I had to wait over 2 weeks for my copy of Mockingjay to ship...
I got it from amazon, and one of the warehouses happens to be located 20 minutes from my house.

I'm Alex by the way
Hi Alex, I'm Jia and I basically only read dystopias now. Yes, it's that sad. :/
There was Girl in the Arena, but I hated it. Absolutely hated it. It was a cheap rip off of the Hunger Games.
Anyway, if you haven't read Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scot O'Dell, you should. It's about a girl surviving on an island off the coast of California. Childhood memories, man.
I've heard Divergent was extremely well written, it is similar fromwhat I've heard.
Even thought Epitaph Road isn't that similar, it's pretty good. :D About a world where only 3% of the male population is alive.
Anyway, this seems like a year for dystopias, but I still like THG. :D My allegiance is still strong. ;)

MAZE RUNNER.
It's almost as good as the Hunger Games...or maybe I'm just easily entertained by dystopian violence.
And same as Jia, I recommend NOT reading Girl in the Arena. I got 70 pages in and still had no idea what was going on. :P

I didn't even finish the book. It was soooooooooooooooooo boring.
Haven't yet read Scorch Trials, I'll read it anyway.
I've heard good things about Whither as well. :D
I know, GR is making me aggravated.

I am Sharlene and I just finished reading the Hunger Games trilogy and I just absolutely LOVED IT.
I absolutely loved that Katnis ended up with Peeta. I read all three books in a span of 4 days.. I couldnt put the books down.
Nope, I read them all in one day or two days. I finish standardized testing really fast, and you have to read. (Except this one time when the guy next to me and myself start making pictures out of the icons on the computers, bu that's another story.) But, yeah, I had all 3 with me, so I had to do something.

Wait. This is supposed to be an introduction.
Random facts about me: I like Coca-Cola, fruit, veggies, potatoes, rice, and pasta.
I love the beach.
I enjoy cycling to and from work as everyone else drives.
My favourite colour is lime green, and you'd probably guess it if you met me in person. Wallet, glasses, Pandora charms, cell phone case, coin purse, water bottle... All LIME spankin' GREEN!
I recently cut my hair SUPER SHORT. AGAIN! :D
hello people!! ! I'm Jenna, and i just started reading The Hunger Games after hearing awesome reviews about it. I'm already falling in love with it and i'm only 140 pages in!

@Cri gosh nobody at my skewl has ever heard of the books not even the librarian!im the only one whos read them a..."
Oh then maybe you could be the one to sort of like promote the book! :D I think that's how it happened at my old school. One person read it and then her friend got curious and read it until a group of people got into it. XDD
Librarian: Hey, I have this book that I think you'd really like.
Me: Really? What's it called?
Librarian: The Hunger Games. And the sequel just came out, Catching Fire. You'll be the first to get them. I just got it shelved. My daughter loved the first one.
Me: Cool. I'll take it.
Later that night...
Me: Okay, let's see what this is about...
*reads the back
Me: What? Does she think I'm a cold hearted killer or something?
Guess she made the right decision to give me the books. xD
Then, I gave it to my best friend who loved it. Everyone else thought I was some creeper for reading them. Then this year everyone started reading them. :\ Sigh. Ahead of the ball curve, I guess. Then, they're like "You should read this! It's soooo good!"

Ya I think we did.... are you in the Kids/teens book group?

I loved how original the idea was and how Collins was brave with her descriptions of the brutality and violence.
It's definately a favourite.
