Hi everyone, I just started reading the series and it's good. But in a sense, I'm mildly disturbed by the concept. Kids killing kids. If you really THINK about it, it's kind of screwed up.

And I'm NOT saying the series isn't good. I'm enjoying the characters very much. Maybe I'm much too sensitive to even hear fiction about children being killed.

It is disturbing but thats the whole point..the Capitol as a reminder takes there children for the own enjoyment and makes everyone watch it

I totally agree with that, but if you think about it, a lot of books are disturbing. In The Scorpio Races, my favoritest book in the world, people race on human-eating horses... and do you need more example, or can you think of them on your own??

Well, the series is about how much the districts hate the hunger games (view spoiler)[ and rebelling aginst them in the last book (hide spoiler)], and as peeta puts it showing the capitol people how they're not just a piece in their games. It is screwed up but that's the point. Collins is showing people who enjoy movies like the titanic how sick they really are.

Hello! I'm Lauren and I received the trilogy for my birthday. I've read the first two in the space of two days and I've almost finished the third one, though I'm slightly disappointed with it at the moment. However I loved the first two! My favourite part of the Hunger Games was probably when Katniss and Rue became allies or maybe the part with the berries.

me too..the 3rd book was a tough read..load of infos at once and all..but the last part of the book made up for that..

Agreed sorta, I mean I actually like parts of Catching Fire a lot better than some parts of the Hunger Games, but Mockingjay just... blah.

Hey, I'm rueprimgale. I read The Hunger Games almost two years ago when I got them for my 12th birthday, and have been obsessed ever since. I love Rue, Prim, and Gale (No freaking duh, look at the username) and I hate Peeta..heh. People get annoyed with me for talking THG so much and I've actually lost friends over it...whatever. So be prepared for obsessive, opinionated (not against real people, though) rants. :D

And I like books in general. A lot. :)
