Jane (juniperlake) | 8 comments I just made it last year. Want to do the same this year. Love to read but want to remain open to walking, swimming, being with friends and family, volunteering, writing. Don't want to be manic about it bu...so many books, so little time, and all that. Want to STOP reading books I really don't like.

Susy (susysstories) I know the dilemma Jane! There's so much I would like to do but there are so many books I want to read (and so little time).
Stopping books I really don't like is something I want to learn as well. I find it hard though, because sometimes the beginning of a book is not really to my liking but then I do love the end and am glad that I have read it. Wouldn't have if I had stopped...

Wishing you the best of luck with your goal! Have fun reading and all your other activities!

Jane (juniperlake) | 8 comments Blagica and Susy, thanks for your encouragement. I'm also doing the 2018 Pop Sugar challenge. Do you know it? Have done it for the past two years and like the way it pushes me to read outside my box...which includes fiction about family, poetry, essays about poetry or family, and essays about race. I've already read nine books for that challenge as well as a few others. I need to start reading on the elliptical so I can exercise and read at the same time. Am reading Faraway Nearby by Rebecca Solnit. Gorgeous essays about her life. The title is a phrase from Georgia OKeefe who described her long-distance intimate friends this way. Love that.

What are each of you reading and how do you feel about the reading challenge so far?

Yes, I know it but am not participating.
I'm now reading The Mysterious Affair at Styles and waiting for Heartless to arrive. Challenge is going great thanks to the 24in48 readathon I participated in. So I'm actually 5 books ahead of schedule (but otherwise have neglected my life lol, my house is a mess, haven't done any workouts etc).

Blagica | 12941 comments A book is a dream that you hold in your hand. I hope that April brings you many more five star reads. Do you have a stand out book so far this year?
