Cassie | 5 comments I read the book when I was in junior high (about eight years ago). It was a book about this girl with some sort of mental illness, and I remember at the beginning of the book, she was counting pills and commenting on how they reminded her of a rainbow because of all the different colors. She then goes back to school and joins the fencing team. The story switches to this vampire woman who lives with her husband and children who she loves dearly, and she hates drinking blood. Then, when the two women dream (I think it's in their sleep) they somehow switch minds and the girl is scared because she's this in a weird house with a bunch of strangers, but it's actually the vampires family. They end up meeting outside of their dreams and the girl finds out that the vampire killed her mother shortly before she was born, but doctors were able to save the girl. The vampire killed the mom in this raid on a town, and the vampire was so hungry she killed the first person she saw. Before the woman died, the vampire heard a faint heartbeat and knew it was a baby so she took the woman to a hospital.

Cassie, does anything on the Body Swap list look familiar?

No, thank you though. The book didn't really focus on them switching bodies. It was for a short time, but it helped the girl find the vampire.

A.J. | 82 comments What an unusual book. Did the main character actually meet a vampire, or did she hallucinate it? Do you remember the genre and demographic?

message 5: by Cassie (new)

Cassie | 5 comments They met eventually in the book, but when they first switched bodies, the didn’t know each other. The vampires were real, but they lived separately from humans. I think the genre might have been horror. It’s been such a long time since I read the book.

A.J. | 82 comments I'm sorry, I have no clue what this book might be. But sometimes if you type a combination of keywords from your description into the solved forum, you can find other people that have read or looked for similar things, and browse through their suggestions.

I did this yesterday when I was trying to solve other book descriptions, and stumbled across one that reminded me of a book I read ten years ago but gave up on ever finding. It's out of print now... Lol.

Cassie | 5 comments Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve been trying to find this book for about two years now.

Ayshe | 4721 comments Persistence of Memory maybe? Here's a quote from the book: "White pill, blue pill, yellow pill, purple pill; its like swallowing a rainbow every bedtime."
