***SPOILERS*** I read this book about 5ish years ago. So this book is about a girl who was forced to move into a trailer on the grounds of an old abandoned mansion because her father is the caretaker for the mansion. She discovers there are two children living in the woods around the mansion finds out they are both ghosts. The two children that live in the woods are afraid of the old ladies ghost that lives inside a mansion.
I specifically remember a part of the book where the ghost girl goes goes into the mansion to get clothes and soap to take a bath in the river so she can make friends with the real girl.
**** you eventually find out that the parents were the old caretakers when the old lady was alive and the old lady didn’t like the kids. One day she’s playing hide and seek with them and she locked them in a cellar. After that she had a stroke and goes into a coma and never tells the parents where the kids are so they end up dying in the cellar and she dies at the hospital. The kids think that their parents had abandoned them or went looking for them. In the end of the book the two kids meet the old lady and they find out the truth that she had a stroke and couldn’t tell the parents where they were and she didn’t mean to kill them.
