Same I was hoping to be able to enjoy this new series , I saw the raving reviews for all of her previous books. To get caught up in the story there are 7 books before Tempest and Slaughter !! Maybe I'll give them a go they do have great reviews so that looks promising.

You're Welcome but some of the reviews I've read say its much like the Harry Potter world but I believe this series is far older than HP

I finished Burn Bright (Alpha & Omega, #5; Mercy Thompson World - Complete, #15) by Patricia Briggs and on to The School for Good and Evil Complete Collection (The School for Good and Evil, A World Without Princes, The Last Ever After) (The School for Good and Evil) by Soman Chainani to finish up this little series.

Lol well now, that's the best kind of movie review you could get. Unfortunately I had to re-shelve the book as I wasn't feeling in the mood to continue with that and The Hate U Give. Enjoying reading some predictable smut lol sometimes it's what I need when life is a little stressed.

Still listening to The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken which feels a little weird. A few times I had to rewind cause I missed something and a lot of times I find it hard to connect with the characters but it's still a good read so far. I think I do much rather enjoy actually reading but this was my first time listening to audio.
I also finished reading The End Zone by L.J. Shen and nearly half-way through Midnight Blue by L.J. Shen ...I think I'm going to read everything else by this author, which I have lined up...rather enjoying her writing and ability to suck you right into the story.

I can Honestly say I hated audios the first time I tried them. The second tim I was still meeh I really got into them after starting The Night Huntress Series!! I think it takes a good narrator that can really pull you in. But I too have had to rewind more than a few times but I dont mind when I get do much more done and easier on the eyes !!

I don’t know what I would do without my audio books. I just don’t have the time to read and it makes me sad. I would properly have to be locked up if it weren’t for audios.

You haven’t read These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1) by Amie Kaufman Sylvia? I loved that book. It’s much better than Unearthed. However I’m not to far into this one.

Victoria | 259 comments finished A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas and while it had some slow moments, some moments where I wanted to strangle the characters, and even though I liked Lucien more than Tamlin or Feyre, it redeemed itself in the end and I am looking forward to getting book 2. In the meantime, I am reading a book called Brass by Xhenet Aliu and I like it a lot which is a good thing. I always consider good books a success since I pick most of them at random off the library shelves :)

I finished listening to The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken and thought it was ok. Didn't really connect with the characters or found myself lost a little but it was my first audiobook listen so that may have had something to do with it. I'm not too keen to continue on with the story but if I do, it will be a long time away.
I'm working my way through some smutty books lol Defy (Sinners of Saint, #0.5) by L.J. Shen Vicious (Sinners of Saint, #1) by L.J. Shen so that's two HotHoles from this Saints to Sinners series down, two more sexy boys to go.
I also finished The Wisdom of Sundays Life-Changing Insights from Super Soul Conversations by Oprah Winfrey which I absolutely love.

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1075 comments Finished my reread of Ready Player One by Ernest Cline , loved it! Also reread The Necromancer (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #4) by Michael Scott

Finished reading Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Creekwood, #1) by Becky Albertalli and this was really cute!

Also finished Heart of Iron (Heart of Iron, #1) by Ashley Poston and I enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting to!

Right now I'm reading Children of Blood and Bone (Legacy of Orïsha, #1) by Tomi Adeyemi and I'm loving this so far!

I felt the same way about Darkest Minds. Never really got into it enough to be hooked to the series. I read the first two but never got around to the third and haven't thought much about it. I liked the idea behind it, I just thought it wasn't executed well.. very slow and the characters just never got enough depth for me to care about them..

Those types of books are my favourite kind. The ones you can visit over and over again and never tire of them. What was the first book like in this series?
