I decided to read Bully (Fall Away, #1) by Penelope Douglas which has taken me 5 years to get to lol I think I may have rated it higher had I read it then but now I tend to crave more tension in hate/love type relationships. Is it worth continuing on with the series? I still enjoyed the read though.
I started Ruckus (Sinners of Saint, #2) by L.J. Shen Dean's story and talk about cover love...whoa!!

hrmm no I think it just felt to immature and the more I read (they should have grown and matured) the more annoying they got I think they was all 2 -3 stars for me. I cant stand NA anymore unless its humor These immature stories are just so boring!! I'm so over the NA Genre!

Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments I think i have out grown the Immature books and stories I need more realistic to really get into a story .. I still read YA but no where near as much as I use to I've been mostly reading Mystery/Thrillers more Womens Fiction not necessarily chic-lit. True Crime and True Stories and Historical.

I think you are right. That's why with NA I need the stories to be a lot darker and intense. I'm definitely putting this series on the back burner.

I go through stages and moods with reading. I always crave fantasy and rather enjoy the escape but with Fiction, I tend to go by how I'm feeling. I do tend to love a good smut read lol

Seems like the first book rated much lower than the second. It may be one of those series' that get better as you go along.

I’m not sure I have ever cared for NA. To me it feels like they call it NA so they can have older people with more sex but the maturity level is that of the YA. If I want to read immaturity I will read a YA book.

Etched in Sand A True Story of Five Siblings Who Survived an Unspeakable Childhood on Long Island by Regina Calcaterra so heartbreaking !! but a true story and then
Girl Unbroken by Regina Calcaterra the youngest sibling of that family her story because at some point the 5 get separated ... Such heartbreaking stories !!

Finished The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1) by Holly Black and it was good for me. I’m still pondering if I loved it or liked it. I believe the second book has more potential to be awesome.

Wondering what to read now.

Victoria | 259 comments Finished Brass by Xhenet Aliu and I really liked it. It was well written and the characters were believable, even the unlikeable ones.
but now I am reading A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas and oh my.. I can't put this one down. I felt a little guilty because I liked Rhysand in the first book better than Tamlin, but see, now I feel justified in that..lol! The first one was a little slow for me, but ended well and the momentum seems to be holding up. I may not get anything done for the next day or so. I both love and hate when this happens :D

Finished off another in the Sinners of Saint series by L.J. Shen Ruckus (Sinners of Saint, #2) by L.J. Shen and about to start Scandalous (Sinners of Saint, #3) by L.J. Shen - seriously, the cover love for these books is through the roof.

not really into it might end up being a DNF

The problem with NA is that authors really believe and are encouraged to make their NA novels VERY sexy. They are told they can't compete in this market without a ton of sex. Thats's fine sometimes and for some people, but I think some readers are getting tired of the same old story, or lack of story, since a lot of these books have little story line and lots of sex scenes. I really like YA but outside of the Arcana Chronicles I haven't found one I really like in a while. There's been a big push toward YA contemporary, which I don't like as much as YA paranormal. I've also been reading womans fiction and historical lately.

Right! I know I would like NA a lot more if there was actually a storyline but there never is Its always boy meets girl they are instantly in love and have lots and lots of sex... The End

I am just so over it!

Not that I dont like the sex scenes I am far from a prude !! I dont care as long as there is a storyline and not just sex just because they think there should be sex happening every other page!

I am also with ya on the YA scene there really hasnt been a series thats at least a bit original that has caught my attention. I've been trying older YA series that I have had on my TBR for ages ... Some are okay some are just meh ... but of course I wont stop looking for a good series!

I've been attracted to the YA Contemporary because they have been running the line of Mystery and not mooshy YA and some are cute tat I dont mind as long as that cute dont turn to "tweenish"
