Help!! Can’t remember Author or Title

I am trying to find this book.

“Cop” is undercover trying to get a serial killer/assassin. His cover gets blown and the assassin tries to take him out. He makes it away from the killer while drugged to this warehouse district where the heroine lives, i believe she is a chef?? She hears a noise and calls the cops. See the “cop” and tries to save him. She rolls him under her car that is parked across the street. She realizes he has a gun and a knife and tries to get them from him to stop the bad guy. “Cop” shoots girl and then passes out, girl is pulled out from under car by assassin and is almost killed. “Cop” saves her in the nick of time?? But not before she is almost killed. Her family has money. Once cop recovers from being drugged and injured becomes her bodyguard to protect her from assassin since she is the only one who has seen him and he is someone she knows.
