I know, and like I said we both thought we had already requested it but realized we hadn't. That's why I asked for it today or as soon as possible. I certainly didn't meant to cause extra work for you and will try to be more diligent in the future. Thanks for the thread!

I am not sure what you mean by relaxed, but I would be up for this. I have never read it, and it is probably a book that I should.

Does anyone want to do a buddy read for Metamorphoses or The Odyssey next year? I'm thinking January or February. I want to read both, but I'm not sure what to read first. If I don't get a reply soon (next few weeks) I might ask in another group as it gets closer to the end of the year.

I just bought that translation, so I am in. Anytime works for me.

An Odyssey virgin. So cool. Pick a good translation! Fitzgerald- good and a classic, Fagles- better and an easier read with beautiful imagery, and the new one that is getting great reviews, the Wilson translation- first one by a woman. I have not read Chapman's Odyssey, but I heard it is gorgeous. (And Keats wrote a poem about it).
Avoid the prose translation at all costs. I think the translator is Rouse, or something like that.
Anyone agree or disagree with my translator assessments?
