Sophia Harris | 6 comments the man is interested in agriculture, and doesn't really like the gentry. the woman is able to tell information about people using the perfumes she bases on them. the woman ends up meeting the man as a member of the gentry, and he doesn't take to her to well. then later when woman is out gardening and wearing simpler clothes, the man stumbles across her, thinking she is someone different from herself, he ends up really liking her. they end up meeting many times with her in "disguise" and she ends up getting pregnant. the man's brother is married to the woman's cousin.
i read it in 2012.

Sophia, can you tell us more about the perfumes - how does she make them, does she sell them or give them as gifts, how did she learn this skill, what can she tell about people using perfumes?

Where does the couple first meet? What does she think of him initially?

Time period and location? Where does the heroine live and with whom?

Whe..."

she distills the essences that makes up the perfumes herself and mixes them herself. she bases them on the client's aura and/or essence. then she gives them to the person she made it for. as far as i know she taught herself how through trial and error. the things she then senses about people vary. the most vivid is when she witnessed, in a vision, that the man she was making it for had dallied with a member of his staff, and then killed her when she became pregnant. he had blamed it on another member of his staff who he didn't like. he had discussed the "unfortunate" matter and lamented about the lack of good staff with others at the heroine's dinner party where she made him the scent. he then tried to silence her with force when the hero of the story intervened.

The two originally met at a party in town where her cousin, who had married the hero's brother, introduced him to her. he had been aloof, and thought that though she was pretty, she was to superficial and therefore was wary of her. she thought he was handsome but that he was to arrogant to try to talk with her for more than small talk. he also thought that she was like most women of the aristocracy and hadn't furthered her intellect through study and was therefore only able to talk about nonsense and frippery.

i think the time period was either the regency or victorian eras.

the heroine lives alone on the estate the was left to her when she lost her husband.

i think the cousin's nickname is nana, and her name is possibly nanette, or something similar. the hero's brother is either an earl or a duke, leaning more towards an earl. the Hero's name possibly starts with an I, but that may be his brother's title.

before the heroine's cousin's marriage with the hero's brother, their family only ever produced girls. and before the child between the heroine and the hero, the hero's family had only ever had boys.

both families were considered strange by the rest of the gentry.

Would you call this a paranormal romance? Are there many fantasy elements?

Sophia Harris | 6 comments There is some but it is categorized as historical romance

Sophia Harris | 6 comments That’s it! Thanks!
