Vincent Harrick, Lexie Park’s husband and a deputy sheriff, refused to consider that Ellis and Long were responsible for his wife’s death despite all the evidence. Even though the top prosecutor was removed from the case because they knew it was hopeless, why do you believe he was so committed to believing Foster was the killer with no other evidence than the potentially planted DNA?

I believe cops stick together. Most will stick with the sheriff's office in believing that they got the right guy and didn't make any mistakes...especially if that mistake involves dirty cops.

Near the end of the book when it was mentioned that Harrick was sitting twenty feet from the man he still believed killed his wife, I thought if the charges against Foster were dropped, Harrick might pull a gun and gt his own justice. I'm glad he didn't.

I found this perplexing as he was more committed to job than his wife in this matter. I’d want to know the truth when someone I loved was killed. This reflected poorly on him.
