Hi all! Sorry I have been MIA the last few days. I was sick and pretty much did nothing but sleep all weekend long. Though I did manage to get a book in yesterday :)
I know many of you have also been busy with school and work, so I hope all that is going well for you!
Just wanted to give you guys an update and let you know that the March mini-challenge has been announced! Any books started after March 14 can count for our hands AND for the mini challenge! Check out the rules here and let me know if you have any questions!
Here is the countdown for March 14 -- note that the time that March 14 starts has changed from previous countdowns due to daylight saving time, so make sure you're only counting books started after this countdown hits zero.
The mini challenge this month has a bit of a puzzle to it, so I will spend some time after work today sussing it out and let you know what letters we can use for it.
Let me know if you have any questions at all and I will get answers for you!
In the meantime.... if anyone wanted to take a crack at the crossword for the March mini.... :) They are all game names.

We have finished the crossword and these are the letters to read for as part of the March mini:
A — 17
B — 2
C — 11
D — 3
G — 2
J — 2
L — 5
M — 4
Q — 1
R — 5
U — 3
Y — 2
4 — 1
For the letters, it's pretty simple — we just follow the same rules we do for conventional numbered cards (so for C, author first/last name starts with C, character first/last name starts with C, title starts with C, etc.), but they're also a little more lax...like, a cat on the cover can count for C also. So if something doesn't fit for any letters, we can see if it'll fit for an item on the cover :) Just read as you already planned to, and we will just fit books for both places where we can.
The 4 is a little more challenging because it has to be in the title of the book.
So, for all books started after the mini challenge starts in about 19 hours (countdown), please just post not only the regular cards it can be used for, but also which letters it can be used for as part of the mini!
I'll keep this comment updated with letters still open as the month goes on.

Hey guys. I think everyone realizes that we are a bit lagging behind in march. That's because I feel many of us were busy with something or the other. Lets try and catch up shall we? :D
Finally over my reading slump! Should have a completion tonight :)
i've got at least 4 books I'm almost done with. I usually get through books pretty fast bc I focus on one at a time, but for some reason, I've just been working through them all at once instead. Hopefully in the next couple of days I'll post them all here. I agree, we were doing so well last month!!
I should be finishing up 2 within this week. I’ve been stuck in a rut with these 2 I’m reading.
Yes I think everyone has been quite busy this month with school/work/life in general, but we definitely can pick it up :) we actually aren’t doing too bad considering that March is a longer month so we still have about 12 days to get stuff done! I have some books eligible for the mini challenge too that I haven’t placed yet, so that will help :) just trying to figure out where they will best be used, so I’ll probably look at that tomorrow. And to update everyone else on this: Pratik dropped out of the challenge — and we won’t get a replacement player, but we do get four books to use from UNO Pixie’s shelf to fill that void. I’m waiting until the very end of the month though so I can choose books to fill whatever we need — though I’m hopeful we can get the hands done without needing to use those ;-)

We also need two WD4 books, which can fit for either of the above or 0 Green, 1 Yellow, 5 Blue, or 4 Yellow.
I have something I can read for 1 Red if needed for this month, but it’s low priority on my TBR list so if anyone else has something they already want to read that will fit that card, please do :)
I'm about to read
, and I thought it would fit for 1 Red, but tineye says it's orange... does it look red to anyone else or am I crazy?

(30 + 25%) Tineye is so weird sometimes. Just last week I looked something up and once it showed up as green and once as yellow.... same edition and everything. So bizarre.
But I definitely think it looks more red. I'll ask in the captains group and see what they say!

I can check it when I get to a computer (on my phone now and I can never figure it out on my phone) but I’m pretty sure I’ve checked that one before and it worked. But I can verify if I get to a computer before you have a chance to check!
Oh and make sure to uncheck the “exclude background colors” box :) it automatically is checked but it shouldn’t be!
I'll read it towards the end of the month but don't worry it will be completed so you can cross this off :)
Also I have The Underground Railroad
for 1 Red (there's a character named Ollie). However the red is just falling short of 100%. It has 48%.Will the mods consider it?
Unfortunately, no -- they're pretty steadfast on the 50% rule.
