Sarah Twiggs (twiggssl) | 572 comments Hi everyone -

Sorry to be MIA - I work with college athletics at a conference office. The spring is typically busy to begin with, but with the crazy weather (so cold), we have been busier. Plus, with the new kitten having seizures again, I haven't had time (or sleep) to do anything.

I have managed to finish two audiobooks though in

What's So Funny?: My Hilarious Life
Bossypants

Not sure if they help anywhere. I am halfway through Shutter Island. I will take a look at the mini challenge and see what I have.

Thanks for your patience!

Sarah

We all get busy sometimes! I hope the kitty is doing better!

Have you added the audiobooks to the spreadsheet? At the very least, as Stand Alone books they work for a 0. And both authors work for a 2, as well.

I believe I did - if not, I will check!

And thanks, he had three more seizures last night. Rushed him to the Pet ER. Didn't have one through the night and is scheduled to see a neurologist this morning.

Sarah Twiggs (twiggssl) | 572 comments Does A Court of Thorns and Roses count for

28. Read a book set in a country you do not live in?

Or anything else?

I also have...

Bellamy and The Brute (not sure where it can work)

and

Brownies & Betrayal

works for 62. Read a book with baked goods on the cover

Brownies and Betrayal can also work for “pink cover”, if you are reading the edition you posted.

message 517: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2892 comments Court of Thorns works for #4, a different world. I think the different country has to be on our planet. :)

Eni | 169 comments Finished The Faerie Guardian- itspast 1am here so its already on the 12th

i put down Redwall and The Girl With All the Gifts on the april mini. Its what ill be reading next. I also found a book that fits at least 6 of the tasks and its pretty fast to read, so ill leave it for last in case we reach the extra 4.

message 523: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2892 comments It has to be started after the countdown hits zero, not just the 12th for you. That’s in about 6 hours.

message 524: by Cinthia (new)

Cinthia (cinthiah) | 308 comments Finished Feversong.

This mini challenge seems so difficult to me because we won't know where some books might fit until we read them, which makes planning hard. We just need to keep an eye out for words needed, professions, etc; and if it fits, try to move them from things that we can see before we read (such as cover colors, author's names, etc). That might be the easiest way.

For words in text (or even professions), you can use Amazon's Look Inside feature. It's a lifesaver for word hunts!

Agree! I also use books.google.com if Amazon doesn't have a preview :)

Completed: Fool Moon

Can someone please explain tasks #40 and #41 on the mini to me please?

message 528: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2892 comments Jessica, 2 books that have the same photo/design on the cover. There may be slight color or different zooming, but it is clearly the same photo. For instance:

I Was Anastasia by Ariel Lawhon and A Ring of Truth (Henrietta and Inspector Howard, #2) by Michelle Cox

Laura | 2892 comments If you're an AMMP member, some ideas can be found here:

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

or here:

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Lists:
Cover Clones
Cover Couples
Same Cover, Different Book

The don't have to be read by the same person, so we would need to do some co-ordinating. But they can be read by the same person.

I think the first one will need to wait until you've read it to see what's in it. For the second one, I'll put it down for the baked good on cover, but note that it works for the pink cover, as well. I find baked goods to be harder to find, personally.

Now that I'm looking at that second set, I was only looking at the foreground. The stuff in the background of the picture is different. How about we go for the first set? I'll do Somebody Like You (Maverick Junction, #1) by Lynnette Austin

A few years ago (probably 10) Hallmark channel had a series of mystery movies about a bookshop owner, with that girl from E.R. and the show Life Goes On. I really enjoyed those.

Kellie Martin! That's the name. :)

Yes! That’s exactly what I thought of! I went to visit my parents last weekend and my mom and I actually watched that show! Maybe they brought it back? Regardless, even if it’s reruns, I was hooked!

And I was like THATS LUCY FROM ER - which I believe I can watch on Hulu. It’s the little things 😊

They were called Mystery Woman, right? I wonder if they're on the Hallmark Channel app? Or on Netflix? We don't have cable/satellite.

I used Amazon’s search tool and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time contains the word “pajamas” in the text. Would you mind switching things around Nicole?
