Annika | 1412 comments The round for March starts in 30 mins so any book finished after that is all good to use :)

Tina Creek | 82 comments I finally figured out how to get me to read four ( 2 were just over 100 pages) books in one day. Offer a $5.00 amazon gift card per review! lol. I follow an author on Facebook and hadn’t logged onto Facebook for a few days. I log in this morning only to see a notification that the author was doing a giveaway/drawing for everyone that read and left a review on good reads. It started on 2/28and ends at 1:00pm central 3/2. So ... I can read faster than I did in February so guess I got some making up to do lol

message 353: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Haha, that's some incentive ;)

message 354: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments It’s been super quiet here. How’s everyone doing?

message 355: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments I'm doing good, I'm away this weekend (dad's b-day today) so my time is not my own ;)

message 356: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments Happy Birthday to your dad!

message 357: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments :)

How's your weekend?

message 358: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments It’s been good. Watched a good movie last night and finished a book a few minutes ago.

I have a strange ritual with books. If I really like a series and a new book is releasing soon, I have to read the whole series all over again. So I’m looking up A Court of Thorns and Roses to make sure it will help knock out some cards. Only two names in the series is forever etched in my brain. But I need to double check other names.

Jennifer H Happy Birthday to your dad, Annika! My dad's birthday is tomorrow. He will be 70.

poot (makerner) | 20 comments Just checking in to say hello!
Hope everyone’s had a nice Monday (or whichever day it was where you are).
I’ve decided to switch over to audiobook for Disaster Artist. Greg Sestero does a great impression of Tommy Wiseau!

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments Another audiobook suggestion: I just finished listening to You Don't Look Your Age...and Other Fairy Tales on my commutes. All the stories are read by different women, from Meryl Streep to Lily Tomlin to Kathy Bates to Gayle King - and more. They are stories and little autobiographical vignettes, and some are better than others.

I will say I laughed out loud and kept laughing during Lily Tomlin's reading of I Hated Teddy and Teddy Hated Me - I have never heard my name spoken with such loathing and derision so often in such a short period of time - LOL.

message 363: by poot (new)

poot (makerner) | 20 comments Huh, I'll have to check that out!
I have to say that this is the first audiobook that I've ever listened to. I've always preferred reading the words to listening. I'm definitely impressed by this audiobook though. It gives the words more character :)

Haha that must be funny! I can't say that I have had a similar experience. I'll remember that story when I get around to listening to the book :D

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments I've found that I have a hard time listening to anything other than nonfiction or short stories. I've gotten hooked on listening in the car - I rarely swear at the ridiculous driving happening around me these days ;)

Another few I had fun listening to:
Yes Please by Amy Poehler Whatever You Do, Don't Run True Tales Of A Botswana Safari Guide by Peter Allison Year of Yes How to Dance It Out, Stand In the Sun and Be Your Own Person by Shonda Rhimes I'm Judging You The Do-Better Manual by Luvvie Ajayi

I think its Battlestar Galactica, and I think it might be Candy Land - all the verticals are games. I'm thinking about what 2 Down could be. Are horizontals tv shows? I know pandemic is a game as well...

I've updated the MarchMini sheet on our planning doc, and the filled in letters on the sheet image with the letters that we know, filled in. :)

EDIT: ok, they are all games :)

message 383: by Teddie (last edited Mar 14, 2018 06:41AM) (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments Aha - 6 down is cranium. Still checking squatter. Yep, squatter is a game.

message 384: by Jennifer H (new)

Jennifer H 6-down ends in a T so, it can't be Cranium.

DUH....it is definitely Candy Land (I'm going to blame the mistake on the hour of the morning...lol)

Sorry - I meant 2 down

The updated and filled in graphic is on the MarchMini sheet on our planning doc :)

message 386: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments Hi Everybody - I hope your March is going well!

For the March Mini, we are starting with the shorter words, as they are quicker to our word bonus points.

There are a lot of A's, so keep an eye out for any books that will work - remember for the mini we can also use items on cover:

The letter needs to be the first letter in the book title, author first name or surname, character name or nickname, setting, the first letter in the series name AND you can use cover items on books. Articles (a/an/the) can be ignored in the book titles.

The updated Mini sheet is on out planning doc.

Jennifer H For the 4 in the mini-challenge could we use Hardcore Twenty-Four?

message 389: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Jennifer H wrote: "For the 4 in the mini-challenge could we use Hardcore Twenty-Four?"

Sadly no. It has to be a single 4 / Four to count :(

message 390: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Anyone have a book fitting the Q, it seems I'm out of luck :(

You didn't think it would be easy did you ;)

message 398: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 529 comments What all do we have left that we need?

message 399: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Brittany wrote: "What all do we have left that we need?"

At the moment we have 16 cards left to fill, all but one are easy numbers, so I'm not too worried about those. We can always switch books around to make things fit. There is one colour card left to fill but I'm hoping that April read Naked in Death this month, so might have that one covered already.

I don't wan't to give you specifics as I don't know what books April has read, I'd like to have those on the sheet first and then I can make another update.

As for the mini challenge, the most difficult ones we are still looking to fill are something that will fit Q (Title, author, series, item on cover, setting, name/nickname) and 4 in the title. Another U would also be nice.

We still have 24 spots left to fill so we most likely wont be able to comlete that one, but maybe a couple of more words.

message 400: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments April, when you add your books, would you mind indicating (or adding) which books we can use for the mini challenge?
(Books started March 14 or later)
