Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 497 comments Karen, I have 17 books on my Uno Shelf, but only 15 are showing up on the Team's official SS under the members section. Do you know why that is? I can't figure it out.

Jennifer H Hi Team Sculptor,

Team Triangulum checking in to thank you for recommending the In Death series by JD Robb. I read Echoes in Death (In Death, #44) by J.D. Robb . I always love finding an excuse to read about Eve & Roarke and I'm never disappointed.

Amazing job everyone!

Our February hands are complete!!

There are still 12 open spots for part 2 of the mini challenge. I'll keep updating the post above so you can see what's available

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments Great job team.

So, is the same number of words in the title a valid connection?

sorry I missed that.
I'm a bit on the fence as there have been "no"s given to other things like initials of authors. Is there a character name we can find in one of the other books, or something in common on the cover instead?
I think it would be safer to have a stronger connection

message 413: by Lisa - (Aussie Girl) (last edited Feb 22, 2018 06:46PM) (new)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments Okies.

How about this then. I finished Claimed in Shadows (Midnight Breed, #15) by Lara Adrian by Lara Adrian.

Connection: Andromeda Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward .

Secondary characters both vampires are killed during the course of the books. Balthazar in Claimed in Shadows and Darius in Dark Lover. Or covers show vampires nuzzling/biting their mates.

Added to Uno shelf.

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments Hey Team Sculptor! Kaylee from team Carina just stopping in to say thanks to whomever recommended Animal Farm for the Mini Challenge! I was planning on reading this eventually because I read 1984 last summer and really enjoyed it, and this was a perfect opportunity! I think I enjoyed Animal Farm even more; the same symbolism and important messaging, with a really interesting format and easy to read writing! Thanks again!

We can't link to Pyxis in part 2 because they were a team in part 1

I'll see if I can find another way it may fit unless you have another idea?

found we had you down for Milky way. All good :)

For Team Ceres - Daughter of Fortune by Isabel Allende

Oh shoot. Sorry Dianne, just saw that your book was started before the mini challenge so we can't count it for the mini challenge. Oh well. I hope it was an enjoyable read anyhow :)

message 437: by Karen ⊰✿, Avaricious Reader (new)

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments Finished
The Murder on the Links which connects with Carina.

I have one more to squeeze in for Carina before the end of the Feb round.

I also start back at uni this week, so my reading next month will be much more limited. I'll do what I can on audio, but I'll probably only be reading half of what I did this month

message 438: by Karen ⊰✿, Avaricious Reader (new)

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments 4 days until the end of the Feb round

Books started in Feb, but finished in March, will count for our March books

Mini challenge:
These books have been claimed, if you're no longer intending to read one, please shout out so someone else may be able to grab that spot. If we can get them all done we get those important bonus points!

Haumea Force of Nature Kaila
Mensa Beyond scandal and desire Lisa
Mercury Death's Rival Sassafrass
Milky Way Killman Creek Kaila
Pluto David Bowie made me gay Apoorv

And, our open spots can be found in the post at the top of this page here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
(there are 5 open)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments Good one.

I'm starting mine tonight so will definitely be finished by the deadline. Might even be able to do one more, see how the week pans out.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments I found this one (a short novella of 127 pages) Midnight Unleashed (Midnight Breed #14.7; 1001 Dark Nights #68) by Lara Adrian to connect with Team Kuiper Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger .

Vampires are the main supernatural creature in both books. Midnight Unleashed is set in Rome (with vampires) and Alexa's late father ( from Soulless) was an Italian vampire. Does this work?

message 445: by K (last edited Feb 25, 2018 11:13AM) (new)

K (kai_la) | 25 comments To be perfectly honest, I'm likely not going to get to the two I claimed by the end of February - I had a handful of review copies come through, and I'm giving those priority :) But! I've made my next two reads fit for both of those teams, so I can still claim those spots:

The Favorite Sister - fits for Team Haumea's Big Sexy Love, as they're both set in New York.

The French Girl - fits for Team Milky Way's Stillhouse Lake, as they both have water, reflected shadows, and silhouettes on the cover.

For the March hands, I can claim 3 Blue with Force of Nature (Aaron Falk, #2) by Jane Harper , which is surprisingly more blue than green. Killman Creek (Stillhouse Lake, #2) by Rachel Caine is also Blue, but I won't know if I can make it fit 1 or 3 until I read it.
