Bolivar Beato (bolivarbeato) | 7 comments Hi Kimberly,
I am looking for a review for my fantasy novel Pangaea; the Sunslinger Pangaea; the Sunslinger. Looking to see if you are interested.

Lyonesse exists a lawless city under constant siege by malicious crime lords. It is a nexus point between Pangaea’s underworld and its elite, delivering both the best and the worst Pangaea has to offer a broken people. No one, whether Highbourne or Low, whether mortal or High Immortal, can escape the city’s darkness once it takes hold.
In that darkness a young Cougar seeks to shine a small light by helping those less fortunate. And with some luck, atone for past sins committed out of inexperience.
Her protector; an Elf whose past has left him defeated and whose boss seeks only to keep them both under his heel.
A terrible accident can either set them both free or see them forever ensnared, or worse…dead.

“Every now and then a Ranger, near the end of his life or edge of her sanity, enters Lyonesse in a last-ditch effort to bring a small measure of hope to the hopeless.
Predictably, their life span is short and violent.”

Laurence Houlgate | 9 comments Hello Kimberley. There must be several of you who are reading all of the preceding books. I am your 5lst request!
My genre is philosophy. I am a retired professor using my years of teaching experience to write books for beginning philosophy students. I need Amazon reviewers who are willing to put on the hat of a beginning student, read a chapter or two and tell me if my latest book is helpful. The latest book is UNDERSTANDING JOHN STUART MILL: THE SMART STUDENT'S GUIDE TO UTILITARIANISM AND ON LIBERTY

Hi Kimberly!
If you're up for some fantasy, my book In Sheep's Clothing: Book 1 is listed on Kindle Unlimited.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

It's in the vein of Animal Farm & Watership Down in presentation. The characters are anthropomorphized animals living in a structured, dystopian society. A sheep struggles with thoughts of rebellion, and jumps on the chance when he meets two creatures that clearly are not of his world.

The book is the first of a planned series called The Nexus Nebula Saga that will run into parallel universes, time shenanigans, spirit realms and pseudo-quantum physics.

If you're interested, I'd love for you to check it out. No pressure, of course -- I can clearly see you've got a lot of requests coming in!

Hi Kimberly, I know your post is from January, so I don't know if you're still looking for books to review, but if you are I'd be happy to send you a paperback or PDF of my YA novel Fast Backward. It was published by Koehler books June 1 to strong reviews (but being a greedy guy, I want more). Here's a back-cover synopsis:
FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD BOBBY HASTINGS witnesses an
atomic explosion near a top secret New Mexico army base in
July of 1945. Terrified, he soon heads off on his bike for home,
only to encounter something that rivals the blast for drama. A
girl his age stands naked at the side of the lonely desert road:
underweight, unwell, and speaking with a German accent. In
the coming days, she unveils an impossible story about time
travel and a heartbreaking outcome of the war. She begs people
to believe her warning and prevent the awful future she claims
to know too well. But even if they do believe her, and the story
is true, the biggest question remains: can history be undone?

Andrea Franco-Cook (scribbler50) | 2 comments Hi Kimberly,
First off, thanks for offering to read and review novels. I recently published PAWN OF THE GODS, a Dark Fantasy. If you enjoy this genre and would like to give my book a chance, I've posted the following link and the synopsis below that. Thanks again for supporting new authors.

https://www.amazon.com/PAWN-GODS-Andr...

Can a 30-year old English professor with a haunted past be the hero that humanity needs? Only if she can figure out the secret behind a 16th century artifact.

The mystery unfolds deep in the Yucatan in 1572, when a Mayan high priest predicts an impending war between the gods of the underworld and the mortal realm. Seeking to prevent man's destruction, a winged deity passes a mystical weapon to a Spanish Conquistador for safe keeping.

Four-hundred-and-fifty years later, the winged god reveals himself to Soledad Mendoza, detailing her link to the conquistador and her role in the upcoming war. The problem is she's out of shape, a lonely widow at thirty, and her nightly predilection for scotch makes her more likely to join a twelve-step program, than become a hero.

When a politician and longtime friend proves to have ties to the conquistador's past and the artifact, Soledad must force herself into action and unravel the mystery before her, or the fate of humanity may suffer.

PAWN OF THE GODS is for dark fiction fans who enjoy reading stories that flip between the past and present, while blending history with political intrigue and apocalyptic lore.

I am looking for honest, true-to-heart reviews for my recently published novel The Wayfaring Diaries. A novel written by a traveller for travellers full of the good things of life; food, drink, football, Persian carpets and literature. It was a novel inspired by a song, yes, inspiration can be as simple as that. The song is Moon River, made famous by Audrey Hepburn. The line 'two drifters off to see the world, I'm not so sure the world deserves us' was so evocative I had to bring it to life.

#BASTA is a hashtag introduced by Mr. Michael Avenatti the Attorney for Stephanie Clifford AKA Stormy Daniels via his tweets. Basta is an Italian and Spanish word which in English, means ‘Enough! Stop!’
Who is Stormy Daniels and what does she want with President Donald Trump? Why is the President being sued and why is his presidency at stake? $130K is a huge amount of money to be offered to a porn star by the President’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, but why?
Daniels claimed she had an affair with Trump after the two met at the American Century VIP golf competition in July 2006. That end of the week, as indicated by Daniels's, the two had consensual sex in Trump's hotel room. They kept on staying in contact through 2007, since Trump had offered to have Daniels go along with him on NBC's The Apprentice (an appearance that did not occur). Trump, whose spouse Melania had brought forth their child months before the asserted sexual experience, has denied that any illicit relationship occurred.
In this book you, will learn how a Porn Star, Jennifer Clifford AKA Stormy Daniels, was able to stand up to the political state gaining unprecedented headlines by suing the President of the United States with the help of a skilled, well prepared and aggressive attorney, Michael Avenatti. They have been able to shake Donald Trump’s presidency and his personal attorney Michael Cohen, exposing their lies and corruption, cooperating with the Special Counsel Robert Mueller and seeking to depose the president.

message 76: by Annette (new)

Annette Johnson | 9 comments Hi there Kimberly

I am the author of A Jazzman's Tale, a screenplay memoir of bebop trumpeter and pianist Charles Freeman Lee.

Freeman, as he was better known, was one of the jazzmen who joined the jazz revolution called bebop at Minton's Playhouse and the Paradise Club in Harlem, New York City in the 1950s.

Freeman came out of Wilberforce Collegians, an important band in jazz history formed in 1926 at Wilberforce University in Ohio, with famous alumni like Benny Carter, Frank Foster and Ben Webster.

He played with Thelonious Monk, James Moody, Sonny Stitt and others in the bebop era and made two albums with bebop pianist, Elmo Hope, and ex Wilberforce Collegians bandmate, saxophonist, Frank Foster.

A Jazzman's Tale grew from an interview with Freeman in Paris in 1993 and contains verbatim excerpts from the interview and is full of jazzitude(TM) - jazz slang and improvisational storytelling - adding another layer of texture to the narrative of this screenplay memoir.

As a bonus, the book includes an interview with Freeman by his sister, Professor Jane Lee Ball where he shares his ideas on bebop, jazz and musicians like Charley Parker, Thelonious Monk, Elmo Hope, Bud Powell and Billie Holiday with humor and wit.

Several beautiful vintage photographs show Freeman as a young jazzman and students at Wilberforce University between 1895 and 1965.

I hope this book will interest you. It is available in paperback and I will be happy to send you a review copy.

Thanks for your willingness to review books.

I have a Netgalley profile, GR of course, Blog at Wordpress and leave reviews on sites like Amazon/etc. My favorite go to genre is thriller/domestic thriller/psychological thriller and suspense but I am open to any book/genre except sci-fi/fantasy/romance. Nothing against those genres, I just can’t get into them and provide a thorough timely review. My email is ksmith8415@icloud.com and I can also provide my Kindle address. Thanks!

Darren Jorgensen | 5 comments Hi Kimberly

Wow!!! In the space of three hours you've got over 85 replies to your post. Yes, i realize some of them are your own replies, but still...
I cannot imagine that you'll ever get to me. But still, here goes...

My name is Darren M. Jorgensen anf my new literary thriller, Finding Max, was released by Creators Publications on 22 May of this year.

Many of the already written reviews of Finding Max have focussed on how dark the novel is, citing this as a fault. But other reviewers did really "get it." These are the reviewers who have seen within the text themes of Love, Family Ties, Brotherhood, Courage, Respect and Dignity. These two very opposing elements work together, twisting and shifting and turning all around themselves until the text is imbued with an energetic spirit unique in itself.

In Finding Max, five-year-old Maximilian Aldertree and his older brother, Gary, are playing in a playground one hot summer day. Gary has been tasked by their drunken mother to watch over his younger sibling, but while Gary is preoccupied on the monkey bars, Maximilian is abducted by a stranger driving past. Seventeen years later the teo brothers meet again. Gary now works at a NYC homeless shelter when Max comes in one day seeking a hot meal and a comfy bed. Now the two brothers must learn to love and trust one another, along with Gary's new girlfriend, Jean, all while outwitting and outrunning the evil Quinn who seeks to reabduct Max for his own nefarious purposes. And if Gary and Jean get in his way? Well, killing them was always part of the plan.

I reslize many members have already contacted you with review requests and I am certainly not exoecting you to necessarily bite at the hook for reading Finding Max. However if you are intrigued by what i have written here tonoght, please feel free to contact me so that I can get you a copy to read and review.

All my best,
Darren M. Jorgensen

Hi Kimberley,

Thanks for posting to offer your services as a reviewer.

I write humorous contemporary fiction in my pen name, Amanda Paull. My debut novel, a romantic comedy, is currently on a blog tour, but I also have two short stories in my Scott Family Short Story series (I am currently writing the third - Fenella's Fabulous Fountain Fondue). I am looking for reviewers for these two.

The short stories, Let's Dance and A Christmas Day Kerfuffle, are currently published as Kindle e-Books on Amazon, though not exclusively.

I would love to find reviewers who enjoy reading light-hearted romantic / family shenanigan-type stories.

You can find them on my Goodreads' author page and I have also pasted in the blurbs below. They are available for download in Mobi and epub format on BookFunnel, via the following links:

Book 1 - Let's Dance
BookFunnel link: https://bookhip.com/LJKLDZ

She’s helping out a friend. His dad’s hip’s gone. Could a farcical mix-up lead to love?

Ballroom dancing is the last thing Laura wants to try. But her best friend is desperate to meet a hip-swinging Adonis, so before she knows it, Laura is cha cha cha-ing in the back of the Dog and Duck with nerdy Ben. At least no one else need ever find out. No such luck. Her mother is armed with a social media page and dangerous. The shenanigans begin. What a pity Ben’s now looking rather dapper. Will he scarper? Or is Ben made of sterner stuff?
If you like innocent, laugh-out-loud family mayhem, you’ll love Let’s Dance.

Book 2 - A Christmas Day Kerfuffle:
BookFunnel link: https://bookhip.com/HQBCKA

A blooming romance. A trapped poodle. Can their relationship survive the madness?

After a shaky start, Laura and Ben are now getting along great. So much so that Laura dares to invite him for a Christmas Day brunch with her family. As the good tidings commence, a horrifying discovery is made. Freddie, the family poodle, is trapped. Will the ensuing biblical scale mayhem sound the death knell for Laura and Ben’s budding romance? Or is he just a glutton for punishment?

Thanks for reading my post,

Amanda.

Jessica Simpkiss (goodreadscomjessicamsimpkiss) | 3 comments Hi Kimberly, I would love for you to read my new urban fantasy/thriller set in the remote and desolate Scottish Isles. So far I'm getting good feedback, stating its a quick read despite it's size.

The kindle version is free through Amazon KindleUnlimited.

Hopefully we can connect on this. I would greatly appreciate your opinion.

R.D. Murray | 9 comments Hi my name is R. d. Murray...This is very hard to write, but when I was in the 3rd grade I was bullied so badly I wanted to kill myself. All because I was shy, quiet and awkward. I was thrown in the boy’s bathroom by these 3 particular kids who would punch and kick me as hard as they could. I could barely walk as everyday they would abuse me over, and over again. The other kids in school would just laugh at me and no one helped. In fact, those same kids who watched and knew about my abuse would just join in, tease me, and they even threw food at me during lunch. My mom came to school so much to fight for me, but it didn’t help. I had just about given up living in this world. Somehow God saved me and I found writing. It was an outlet to take me away from the pain I was going through in this world. I wanted to create different characters, and a different world just to escape. Writing really saved my life. Now at 42 I just released my first novel. My Dead Blue Caterpillar. I love writing and reading

Ellie Crowe (ellie2) | 5 comments Hi Kimberley,
I Escaped North Korea! by Scott Peters
I would appreciate a review for I Escaped North Korea! by Ellie Crowe and Scott Peters, just published. If you enjoy survival stories based on fact, you'll love this book!

From multi-award-winning writer Ellie Crowe and bestselling children’s author Scott Peters comes a gripping survival story about a young refugee's escape from North Korea.

14-year-old Dae has been taught that his country's leaders are like gods and that their country is the best in the world. Yet all his family has to eat is watery porridge made from grass. At school, Dae and his friends bow before the leaders' giant portraits, their clothes flapping around their bony limbs. Dae begins to question why their rulers look so well fed.

When Dae's father is hauled away, he's left to fend for himself. The young teen dreams of saving his father. If he can cross the border into China, maybe he can earn enough money to bribe the jailors. But can he make it past the deadly border guards and high fences?

Does he have what it takes to escape?

Let me know, and I'll send you a copy
Best wishes Ellie
