Heather(Gibby) (heather-gibby) | 465 comments I have a "looking for" shelf that could be helpful for my Secret Santa

Rainey | 746 comments Anything I haven't purchased is under my want to own, wish list or giveaway folders.

message 203: by Gillian (new)

Gillian | 229 comments I rate all the books I've read so if something is on my shelves without a rating, then I haven't read it. I have two specific shelves for books I own, Tsundoku for books I haven't read yet, and Own and read for those I have finished.

Wanda | 767 comments I have a "Cdn TBR" shelf that holds my wish list of Can Lit that I do not own but would love to read.

Good point about your status. Don't forget to set it so goodreads members can view you.

message 206: by Megan (new)

Megan Hi! Sorry, if anyone was trying to look at my list it was set to private (I thought it wasn't?). Anyway, it's public now. Thanks! :)

Sarah | 386 comments @Petra - I am also in awe at how you can withstand this package! Months away still, eek. Enjoy the suspense :)

message 208: by Petra (new)

Petra | 708 comments LOL! Thanks, Sarah. They are still unopened (but often picked up). I'm not sure how long I'll last. I am enjoying the mystery and festive wrapping.

message 209: by Louise (new)

Louise | 1171 comments Not that my secret sender needs any help because they have been bang on so far and I am not an easy person to choose books for since I have so many on my ereader, or that I borrow in audio at the library. But I do have two collections going right now that I do buy in paperback, the NYRB Classics, and the Noir Series. I have a bookshelf for each on GR, and the books already listed in their respective bookshelf, I already own. My secret sender was savvy enough to send me a NYRB Classic that I did not have and I was thrilled to get it. Now if I can only find the time to read these books!!

Allison - just a clarification, shall we post the Christmas books in the other thread? I did post my Christmas books in the other thread but wondering if this was the intent?

message 211: by Allison (new)

Allison | 2121 comments I think we should keep all the Secret Santa stuff together in the other thread so that those folks who joined us for the last send of the year can join in on all the fun. I agree with you, Susan!

message 212: by Kim (new)

Kim Mitchell | 34 comments All I can say is that I need to have more time to read! I received a nice surprise yesterday. My Secret Reader sent me a copy of Be Still the Water, by Karen Emilson along with a lovely bookmark. It came in a beautiful blue bag, which I am sure I will put to good use afterwards. I have never read anything by this author, and I look forward to adding it to my "soon" to read pile versus my tbr pile. LOL.

message 213: by Allison (new)

Allison | 2121 comments I feel your pain, Kim! I also need more time!

message 214: by Petra (new)

Petra | 708 comments I also need more time. My secret sender has been ultra generous and marvelously intuitive about choosing the perfect books for me. I've read 2 of the books and loved them both. I still have a couple left unread that I'm itching to get to. That doesn't include the still wrapped books that I'm saving for Christmas.
I plan on opening the first one today; perhaps this afternoon over a cup of tea. It's exciting to see the beautiful packages and to know I can open one.

message 215: by Allison (new)

Allison | 2121 comments Oooooo! Let us know how it goes Petra! Nice, cozy image, especially with the anticipation of waiting!

message 216: by Gillian (new)

Gillian | 229 comments My secret sender just sent me two graphic novels, Angel Catbird and The Secret Lives of Geek Girls! Thank you so much!

I haven't been active enough here over the past year to have a good guess as to who my secret sender is. But I love all the books you chose for me. And I love the fact that as a community, we keep something like this going year after year.

message 217: by Allison (new)

Allison | 2121 comments I agree with you, Shvaugn, that it is pretty special that we keep this going year after year, when most of us haven't met in real life. It's awfully awesome, really, if you think about it. :)

Thank you for being awesome, you awesome group of readers (and friends).

I finished reading this today, and I just loved it. What a great story!
