Take a deep breath. Inhale for four seconds. Exhale for four seconds. That’s the first thing they tell you to do when you experience an anxiety attack. It may sound stupid, but when you’re hyperventilating and the world turns into a blurry mess, it’s nice to be reminded to breathe. Someone isn’t always going to be there to tell you to just breathe. Sometimes you’ll be alone and you’ll have to learn how to do it on your own. I know it sounds scary, it feels that way too, but when you experience anxiety you’ve got to be prepared. Heck, that’s a load of shit. You can never be prepared enough for an anxiety attack. Trust me, I’ve tried. And let me tell you this, it’s not your fault. You’re not broken. You’re human and your mind works a little different, and that’s okay.
