@Deirdre, Cesar's Messiah could be interesting. Who wrote it? Can you do a book link?

I am loving The Mayor of Casterbridge so far.
Also listening to Shanghai Girls but it's not as good as Snowflower and the Secret Fan.

I am also half into Sunset Song for my yearly challenge. It is also a good book.
And may start The Gift of Rain for the monthly challenge or continue The Waves which I just started.

My all time favorite book is the Hobbit and that may very well be the next book I read to them. And I'm going to keep on with the drawing as we read because I think it's such a great thing for so many reasons.
Professional narrator? I doubt it but hey never say never. I also never said I was any good at it to where strangers would enjoy listening to me

By the way, I loved your son's dance in the Facebook video. It was very cute. I don't think the cows were very impressed, but I was. :0)
I hope your back is feeling better.

Thanks, Cherie. We are all still sore, stiff and bruised and I am still struggling quite a bit due to that and my pre-existing conditions getting exacerbated as a result of the accident but apart from that we are all doing okay. Yes, it was pretty unfortunate, particularly on Easter Sunday. Still, at least it was memorable!

That's motivating. I have put it off for far too long but it's on my reading list this year. War and Peace

Now I want to see their drawings. :)

I am reading Volokhonsky translation and liking itIt is an easier read ,at least till wjere I reached. Only the length is a bit intimidating.

I will start The Anatomist for my Zodiac read.

I still have to read my first 5 star book of this year. Lots of 4 stars, but no 5 yet.

..."
Really glad you loved it, Janice. It's such a great book! I really wish it had won the 2016 Booker Prize. It deserved to imo.

..."
I completely agree Janice! Enough shades of grey to keep the readers mind working long after the end of of the book.

Peggy, this is my second 5 star in 2018. I'm being very Scotch about them this year. (pun intended)

I am also starting The Western Wind for April's monthly challenge. I know absolutely nothing about it other than it's set in the late 15th century so I'm really looking forward to reading it.

Anansi Boys
March
His Bloody Project: Documents Relating to the Case of Roderick Macrae
The Good People
Behind Her Eyes
Unraveling Oliver
Stoner
Flowers for Algernon
La Belle Sauvage
Maybe that is why I'm having so many DNF's this year? I don't have any patience for the "also rans" lol

I'm also reading The Lucky Ones, which I'm getting through rather quickly. I'm curious how it's going to turn out.
Neither are 5 star reads for me at the moment, but they are both good. Funny how the names are so similar. They are very different books.

My library has The First Man in Rome on audio and it's been on my wishlist for a long time. I think about getting it out quiet often but I never seem to have 41 hours and 20 min to spare! Good luck Lisa - let me know if its is worth it ;-)
