It's time for everyone to nominate a book for our February 2018 group read! Each month during 2018 we will have a different genre to nominate - for February, it's MYSTERY.

Please remember, every nomination must be by an Australian author.

NOTE: Only the beginning of a series (if a series) please :)

This thread will be open until 10th January, then our nominations will go to the vote:) Good luck and have fun!

Authors and publishers, please don't nominate your own work!

Our Moderator choice for February is Nevermoor The Trials of Morrigan Crow (Nevermoor, #1) by Jessica Townsend Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend

Ooh I'm glad you nominated that one Tien :) I was just looking at it for the crime group but it doesn't fit the criteria :)

Bec I nominate The Student by Iain Ryan The Student by Iain Ryan

message 18: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 1611 comments Serious question - what is ‘Mystery’, as compared to crime or thriller? Is mystery a broader category?

message 19: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 69342 comments Mod
The four genres of Crime, Mystery, Suspense and Thriller are fairly close but Crime and Mystery are probably the closest. So where I might have a book on my Crime shelf, I'd likely also have it on my Mystery shelf. Suspense and Thriller are similar too. And I know that probably doesn't really answer your question...

message 20: by Ace (new)

Ace (aceonroam) A mystery doesn't necessarily involve crime.
