Explain the end..

I really liked the book, but I was expecting a little bit of a different ending.... I just want to know what are your thoughts of the events in the very end of the book. I get that Varaze (sorry I'm reading the book in Bulgarian) was spying of them, but the rest not so much :)

I didn't understand or enjoy the ending. It just got too complicated. Also, how could the scarab be fake when it was taken from the tomb?
