I do think it all begins to make sense as you read on. I think my initial issues with Eleanor were because I didn't yet realise she had social issues-at first, she just seemed to look down on others for little reason. I am glad this isn't the case though!

I see, well, I did seem to realise it earlier on, and in fact it was a bit of a disappointment because this has been heavily marketized as a book about loneliness - which it certainly is, but it seems like it's just a part of another yet bigger subject? - and I was hoping it would depict the loneliness of a more 'ordinary' human being, rather than one under more special circumstances.
Anyway. the kinds of things I was mentioning that I was finding kind of hard to believe is that often times, Eleanor behaves and thinks as she had been born yesterday, and it is a bit hard to believe given that she is a 30 year old independent woman, who has been independent for quite some time, I believe.

I already regret that we agreed on only 3 chapters a day, but I know I won't be able to get more done during the week, so it's fine. I'll just have to be patient and we'll eventually find out what the hell is going on 😂

Oh yes, of course! I must have totally missed that passage!

Oops, I just realized I accidentally wrote chapters 10-13 when I meant 10-12!

Chapters 13-18:"
Don't worry about it! I have a little catching up to do myself haha

Then everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office. When she and Raymond together save Sammy, an elderly gentleman who has fallen on the sidewalk, the three become the kinds of friends who rescue one another from the lives of isolation they have each been living--and it is Raymond’s big heart that will ultimately help Eleanor find the way to repair her own profoundly damaged one.
Everyone is welcome to join Abby and I reading this book on January 13!
