I didn't find the characters unrealistic at all. In fact I loved this book. I found it really different from other books of the same genre
Hannah wrote: "I totally agree with what you said about the mistakes, however when someone's innate character flaws just disappear, that's where you get the unrealistic personas that plagued this book."Character flaws? You're joking right? I saw it as a mistake that any kid could make being forced into a situation that he could not comprehend, let alone be mature enough to handle. I thought the author showed his growth, acceptance of his mistake and willingness to put it right. Can't see how that could be a character flaw.
Hannah wrote: "This is why I rarely write these reviews. I don't know why people who disagree with opinions feel the need to argue it. "Might be a good idea then to actually leave a review rather than open a discussion, which is what you did (scroll up to the top of the page - it says there DISCUSSION). You wanted to discuss, I was discussing.

Don't you just love it when someone starts a discussion with idiotic comments, then does not have the courage of her convictions to let the comment stand ... instead she deletes them because she was in the wrong. *rolls eyes*
Oh good grief. Are you an adult?!?! I deleted them because this was becoming personal rather than about a book... And I'm pretty sure I wrote this "DISCUSSION" to be about a book. I don't want to engage in idiotic internet arguments but clearly that's your agenda. I'll try to keep this simple so you can understand it. I didn't like the book. I wasn't wrong, it was a lame book. I stated my reasons with examples. You disagreed... With nothing more than reiterating some idealistic bullshit blurb, I might add. You wanna SHOW me character growth (come on Bev- writing one oh one- you should know this!!! Show not tell!! Basic college writing courses, Bev!!) in a book, okay, but that didn't happen in this book... You wanna show me his struggles with accepting what he's done and his work toward becoming a better person, acceptable. none of that happened! Bev dear, you seem to be personally affected that I didn't like this particular book. I'd be happy to supply you with a whole list of others I didn't like as well so you can tell me how wrong my opinions are on those as well. I'm an avid reader so the list is quite long. Now get off your fucking high horse and accept the fact that it's an opinion- your joke of an online rant will not sway that. People like you are freaking wretched.

I couldn't disagree more, I loved it. I loved the growth the author showed in the characters, especially Mitch. Anyone can make a mistake, it's how they redeem themselves that matters.
