Yes Joey is an ass. Dee...i'm not entirely sure yet but I think it's hinting at something is indeed up with her, but I don't know what yet. I haven't read any more since last night yet.

I didn't either. I really enjoyed it and how I didn't see those twists or that ending coming at all.
I finished Bad Moonlight last night. I remembered what it was about but not all those twist and turns. Wow! It was fun. And scary! The whole thing with Aunt Margret? That’s real life scary!

That it is! Glad you enjoyed it :) There were so many twists and turns, that when I thought I knew where it was headed, it gave me another twist!

I don’t remember anything at all about the next 2 and the only thing I remember about Silent Night is that Reva? Reba is rich.

yeah I'm not going to even read the back of the others. that way i'll be really surprised.

Some books like to say too much on the back blurb. I get that they have to draw people in, but still...
Or the back might say something that would normally turn you away from the book. If you go in without knowing, you might end up giving a book you would not normally pick a go (it could be your next favorite book!) On the flip side, you might DNF more books by going in blindly. We know what we like for the most part. lol

yep, this was me with Swan Song. I never in a million years would've picked that one out. one of the reasons I'm so thankful for this group. I never would've read it if I hadn't joined HA. and I love that book so much.

and I probably wouldn't have gave Stephen King a second chance lol.

I'm pretty sure anyone can join in on the fun!

They are standalones, you can start with Bad Moonlight :)

Cool! Thanks Stephanie!

Of course we don't have to read it at the exact same time in the month, I just know we often try to anyway but it's not required. :)
Edit: My copy of First Date has purple on the cover

I'm fine starting it whenever. I'm debating doing one or both readathons, but that is a huge commitment for October and I've kind of been in a slump.

This is the cover of First Date that I have.
There are 2 hosts for the Freezer readathon, Rachel at TheShadesofOrange Here and Stephanie at That's What She Read Here

I love the old, original covers, but that version of the covers is nice. They sure have a lot more color! My cover is the old one.
Ah thanks! I found your tbr video, so now I am spying on your book choices. I'm stealing one of your picks! Picture of Dorian Gray. ;)
So I guess I am tentatively going to pick some books for both readathons, but we shall see how many I actually read.

Having fun is the most important thing with the readathons :) I hope to read my entire tbr's for them, but as long as I hopefully enjoy what I do get to if I don't get to everything, it'll still be a success
For Spookathon i'm thinking my tbr will be
Thriller- You by caroline kepnes
Not set in this time period & has pictures- 1818 Frankenstein
Spooky word- The Dead House by Billy O'Callaghan
Purple on the cover- First Date
I think October will be a very spooky good time for me :D

You're right! Reading is supposed to be fun!
Ooh, I had a "cheating" idea to get two challenges down real fast. Spooky word & book with pictures. I can read two of the scary stories to tell in the dark. Do you think "scary" counts as a spooky word?
I might try to do a TBR video for both readathons, but it depends on if I can get some alone time to do so.

I will look for another with a spooky word, but Scary stories will be my backup! Getting hyped! I just hope my mental health plays nice.

That is the same cover I have. I am pretty sure that dark color is blue, though my eyes are playing tricks on me! Oh well, I have another purple book.
I'm happy with reading this in the second half of the month if that is what the group decides.

It looks purple around the edges of the words First Date to me. I actually thought that dark color was black until you said it's blue, I got up to look at it from above it and it seems purple to me, of course that's on the computer screen as I don't have that cover to say. Computer screens don't always get color right.
It's not like the Fear Street books take all that long to read anyway. If it works for everyone though then that's great anyway :)

Good luck with ebay!
I'll be reading it for Spookathon later this week
I found one but I don’t know if it will get here by the weekend. I refuse to buy those ugly updated covers if it can be avoided.

lol I like the new covers sometimes, but I understand. Glad you found one :)
