I’ve only read a couple of chapters. Joey is a f—— ass! And Dee!? What’s up with her!

I just finished! I really enjoyed it, there were so many twists that I didn't see coming! I gave it 4.5 stars
Ashley wrote: "I'm finished. That was a fun twisted tale. I really didn't see that ending coming."I didn't either. I really enjoyed it and how I didn't see those twists or that ending coming at all.
I finished Bad Moonlight last night. I remembered what it was about but not all those twist and turns. Wow! It was fun. And scary! The whole thing with Aunt Margret? That’s real life scary!
Latasha wrote: "I finished Bad Moonlight last night. I remembered what it was about but not all those twist and turns. Wow! It was fun. And scary! The whole thing with Aunt Margret? I'm running behind. Just started chapter 3. I've read this before. It has a sense of Deja Vu, but when I saw the title and description, I thought it might be a Fear Street book I missed when I was a teen. Oh well!
I don’t remember anything at all about the next 2 and the only thing I remember about Silent Night is that Reva? Reba is rich.
Stephanie wrote: "I know I read Silent Night but all I remember about Reba is that she's rich too"yeah I'm not going to even read the back of the others. that way i'll be really surprised.
Latasha wrote: yeah I'm not going to even read the back of the others. that way i'll be really surprised."Some books like to say too much on the back blurb. I get that they have to draw people in, but still...
Or the back might say something that would normally turn you away from the book. If you go in without knowing, you might end up giving a book you would not normally pick a go (it could be your next favorite book!) On the flip side, you might DNF more books by going in blindly. We know what we like for the most part. lol

yep, this was me with Swan Song. I never in a million years would've picked that one out. one of the reasons I'm so thankful for this group. I never would've read it if I hadn't joined HA. and I love that book so much.

and I probably wouldn't have gave Stephen King a second chance lol.
Kellie wrote: "This book sounds good. Can I join in the reading?"I'm pretty sure anyone can join in on the fun!
Kellie wrote: "Do you need to read these in order? Or can I just start with Bad Moonlight?"They are standalones, you can start with Bad Moonlight :)

Cool! Thanks Stephanie!
I'm participating in Books in the Freezer readathon from the 1st-14th and then Spookathon from 15th-21st, and one of the challenges for Spookathon is purple on the cover, which First Date has, so I figured i'd read it for that. The 15th is a Monday so I don't know if that'd work if others want to read it at the same time, so I figured maybe the weekend starting the 19th. Of course we don't have to read it at the exact same time in the month, I just know we often try to anyway but it's not required. :)
Edit: My copy of First Date has purple on the cover
What does your cover look like? *pouts* I don't see any purple on mine! I'm fine starting it whenever. I'm debating doing one or both readathons, but that is a huge commitment for October and I've kind of been in a slump.
^_^This is the cover of First Date that I have.
There are 2 hosts for the Freezer readathon, Rachel at TheShadesofOrange Here and Stephanie at That's What She Read Here

I love the old, original covers, but that version of the covers is nice. They sure have a lot more color! My cover is the old one.
Ah thanks! I found your tbr video, so now I am spying on your book choices. I'm stealing one of your picks! Picture of Dorian Gray. ;)
So I guess I am tentatively going to pick some books for both readathons, but we shall see how many I actually read.
Hehe, steal away ;) Having fun is the most important thing with the readathons :) I hope to read my entire tbr's for them, but as long as I hopefully enjoy what I do get to if I don't get to everything, it'll still be a success
For Spookathon i'm thinking my tbr will be
Thriller- You by caroline kepnes
Not set in this time period & has pictures- 1818 Frankenstein
Spooky word- The Dead House by Billy O'Callaghan
Purple on the cover- First Date
I think October will be a very spooky good time for me :D

You're right! Reading is supposed to be fun!
Ooh, I had a "cheating" idea to get two challenges down real fast. Spooky word & book with pictures. I can read two of the scary stories to tell in the dark. Do you think "scary" counts as a spooky word?
I might try to do a TBR video for both readathons, but it depends on if I can get some alone time to do so.
I'd think scary would count. The hosts have said if you think it counts, it counts. And that you can double up :)
Stephanie wrote: "I'd think scary would count. The hosts have said if you think it counts, it counts. And that you can double up :)"I will look for another with a spooky word, but Scary stories will be my backup! Getting hyped! I just hope my mental health plays nice.

. Is my cover"That is the same cover I have. I am pretty sure that dark color is blue, though my eyes are playing tricks on me! Oh well, I have another purple book.
I'm happy with reading this in the second half of the month if that is what the group decides.

It looks purple around the edges of the words First Date to me. I actually thought that dark color was black until you said it's blue, I got up to look at it from above it and it seems purple to me, of course that's on the computer screen as I don't have that cover to say. Computer screens don't always get color right.
It's not like the Fear Street books take all that long to read anyway. If it works for everyone though then that's great anyway :)
The 19th is fine with me. Also on the new covers of First Date the background is purple. I have original one with no purple.
Latasha wrote: "I just now realized I don’t have first date! Off to eBay I go."Good luck with ebay!
I'll be reading it for Spookathon later this week
I found one but I don’t know if it will get here by the weekend. I refuse to buy those ugly updated covers if it can be avoided.
Latasha wrote: "I found one but I don’t know if it will get here by the weekend. I refuse to buy those ugly updated covers if it can be avoided."lol I like the new covers sometimes, but I understand. Glad you found one :)
