I swear! I think Lisa Blume is mentioned in every single fear street book! She’s in this one, running her mouth! She’s in the new girl. She’s best friends with the main character.
I've been on a reading slump, but I will try to at least read some of it. I've read it several times, so I know the story well enough.
Latasha wrote: "She’s mentioned on page 3 or 4."I had no idea Lisa Blume was a recurring character. Looking yeah, I see she said all the houses on Fear Street are haunted. I'll keep a look out for her from now in Fear Street books :) I've read about 1/2 of it so far, hoping to finish it tonight but will see
I read mostly Goosebumps growing up, I know I read a couple Fear Street but mostly Goosebumps so these Fear Street books are actually new to me :) It's still kind of nostalgic though
Stephanie wrote: "Poor girl, R.L. Stine just won't let her graduate."I know! I hope you get out of your slump Leigha. I just finished The Broken Girls and it was sooooo good. I listened to it.
Thanks. I'm actually fine being in a slump, because I've been writing a lot!! I have been in the longest writing slump.
I have finished! It ended up being predictable to me but I still enjoyed it. I gave it a 3.5, I might have enjoyed it more if I could have concentrated better but I kept losing focus, but that's a me thing not the book.
I just finished. I agree with Stephanie it was rather predictable, but enjoyable so I also gave it 3.5 stars. Also I felt the ending was a tad rushed.
A bus crashes into the cemetery and we don’t hear about it in other books?! Come on Bob!! This is how urban legends start. Get your shit together! 😝

I finished The First Evil. It was a lot of fun but game over once Bobbi saw Jennifer walking. I'm still going to give it 3 stars.
y'all want to go ahead and pick the next ones, starting in august? we'll just repeat this order if it's ok with everyone: Ashley
Tosha
Stephanie
Leigha
I will do my pick. However, I am going to be behind in my reading. (I promise I will catch up! It isn't like these books take long to read lol) I've been working on my writing and art and haven't felt like reading. I have a hard time focusing on too many hobbies at one time and I'm really enjoying myself with my art and occasional writing.
So if you don't mind me still picking, I would pick
The Stepsister
I have picked up Bad Moonlight on kindle and ordered First Date. I'll get The Stepsister a little later, that being November's read. Once I finish The New Voices of Fantasy i'll read Halloween Party :)
I'd love to join this read but I haven't been able to get hold of any of these books in NZ. Are you going to continue this next year as well?
ok I updated the list. since we only have December left, how about we all agree on one? I nominate Silent Night. it takes place around Christmas. then in January we can start over and make adjustments for people leaving or new comers. does that sound good with everyone?
R L Stine also has other books similar to Fear Street, just not set on Fear Street. Like his Point Horror novels. The Baby-Sitter Like this one. Then, of course, he has his Goosebumps. (So we could be reading his books for a very long time if we wanted to go beyond Fear Street.)I don't have Bad Moonlight or The Sleepwalker, but I have the others. I'll have to keep my eye open for the other two. Regardless if I get them in time, I still plan on reading them, catching up here and there. (Because there will be months where I'm not reading much.)
And there’s super chillers, mini series like the cheerleaders and 99 fear street. Yeah it could go on for quite a while.
I didn't start with any of the Fear Street books when this started, i've just been getting them as I go along, as we plan to read them. I have to get The Sleepwalker, The Stepsister and Silent Night to finish off the year now. I have 6 more books in the original 62 Goosebumps books to get then i'm going to focus on acquiring all the Fear Street books (up to now i've just gotten the ones we are reading) and the rest of his books. It'll take a long time to get everything he has so many books!
I’d read Goosebumps if y’all wanted to but I wouldn’t collect them all, a lot of those are in overdrive.
I don't use overdrive but Amazon is generally a good place for me. I'm not picky, new, used, kindle, as long as I can read it i'm good. It's only the original Goosebumps books i'm being picky about getting in physical form because nostalgia lol though not all of them are in original covers. I've started Halloween Party! I'm literally only on page 10 so far but i'm liking it

If you can incorporate 'Point Horror' titles as well for Stine, they're much more readily available here.
I was hoping to read more but i've read half today and I am just so tired. I've read the first 8 chapters. Enjoying it so far. (view spoiler)
I prefer the original covers but I think I have 1 with a new one. I’m sure we’ll get to the others sooner or later.
