message 251: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (bookwormahn) I just remember the cheerleaders at my Middle School being obsessed with it. Also starting tonight.

message 252: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Lol! I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing?

message 253: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I will also be starting it tonight :) I don't believe i've read it before

message 254: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I swear! I think Lisa Blume is mentioned in every single fear street book! She’s in this one, running her mouth! She’s in the new girl. She’s best friends with the main character.

message 255: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I'll have to keep an eye out for Lisa Blume.

I've read the first 7 chapters so far, i'm enjoying it.

message 256: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments She’s mentioned on page 3 or 4.

message 257: by Alice (new)

Alice I've been on a reading slump, but I will try to at least read some of it. I've read it several times, so I know the story well enough.

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments Latasha wrote: "She’s mentioned on page 3 or 4."

I had no idea Lisa Blume was a recurring character. Looking yeah, I see she said all the houses on Fear Street are haunted. I'll keep a look out for her from now in Fear Street books :) I've read about 1/2 of it so far, hoping to finish it tonight but will see

I read mostly Goosebumps growing up, I know I read a couple Fear Street but mostly Goosebumps so these Fear Street books are actually new to me :) It's still kind of nostalgic though

message 259: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Yeah she’s mentioned in a lot of them. Poor girl must’ve never got out of that school

message 260: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments Poor girl, R.L. Stine just won't let her graduate.

message 261: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Stephanie wrote: "Poor girl, R.L. Stine just won't let her graduate."

I know! I hope you get out of your slump Leigha. I just finished The Broken Girls and it was sooooo good. I listened to it.

message 262: by Alice (new)

Alice Thanks. I'm actually fine being in a slump, because I've been writing a lot!! I have been in the longest writing slump.

message 263: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Ohh ok!

message 264: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I have finished! It ended up being predictable to me but I still enjoyed it. I gave it a 3.5, I might have enjoyed it more if I could have concentrated better but I kept losing focus, but that's a me thing not the book.

message 265: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (bookwormahn) I just finished. I agree with Stephanie it was rather predictable, but enjoyable so I also gave it 3.5 stars. Also I felt the ending was a tad rushed.

message 266: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I didn’t get to read much so I’m lagging behind. Sorry girls.

message 267: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments A bus crashes into the cemetery and we don’t hear about it in other books?! Come on Bob!! This is how urban legends start. Get your shit together! 😝

XD

message 269: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I finished The First Evil. It was a lot of fun but game over once Bobbi saw Jennifer walking. I'm still going to give it 3 stars.

message 270: by Latasha (last edited Jun 01, 2018 06:27PM) (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments y'all want to go ahead and pick the next ones, starting in august? we'll just repeat this order if it's ok with everyone:
Ashley
Tosha
Stephanie
Leigha

message 271: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments It's ok with me :)

message 272: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Stephanie wrote: "It's ok with me :)"

ok. I'm going to browse my shelf.

message 273: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (bookwormahn) I'm okay with that. I'll go check my shelf as well.

message 274: by Alice (new)

Alice I will do my pick. However, I am going to be behind in my reading. (I promise I will catch up! It isn't like these books take long to read lol)

I've been working on my writing and art and haven't felt like reading. I have a hard time focusing on too many hobbies at one time and I'm really enjoying myself with my art and occasional writing.

So if you don't mind me still picking, I would pick
The Stepsister
The Stepsister (Fear Street, #9) by R.L. Stine

message 275: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I'll choose First Date

message 276: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I pick Bad Moonlight.

message 277: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I have picked up Bad Moonlight on kindle and ordered First Date. I'll get The Stepsister a little later, that being November's read.

Once I finish The New Voices of Fantasy i'll read Halloween Party :)

message 278: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Ok, I think I have all of those. What’s your pick Ashley?

message 279: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (bookwormahn) My pick is The Sleepwalker.

message 280: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Ok, that looks like a good one. I’ll have to order it.

message 281: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 1656 comments I'd love to join this read but I haven't been able to get hold of any of these books in NZ. Are you going to continue this next year as well?

message 282: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I don’t know. If everyone wants to we can, there certainly is enough to cover 2 years and longer.

message 283: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I'd be up for it as long as it goes :) There are plenty of Fear Street books to last awhile

message 284: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (bookwormahn) I'm up for it. I've really enjoyed reading these again.

message 285: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments ok great! we'll keep it going then.

message 286: by Latasha (last edited Jun 09, 2018 09:55AM) (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments ok I updated the list. since we only have December left, how about we all agree on one? I nominate Silent Night. it takes place around Christmas. then in January we can start over and make adjustments for people leaving or new comers. does that sound good with everyone?

message 287: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments That sounds great to me! Silent Night sounds perfect for December :)

message 288: by Alice (new)

Alice R L Stine also has other books similar to Fear Street, just not set on Fear Street. Like his Point Horror novels. The Baby-Sitter Like this one. Then, of course, he has his Goosebumps. (So we could be reading his books for a very long time if we wanted to go beyond Fear Street.)

I don't have Bad Moonlight or The Sleepwalker, but I have the others. I'll have to keep my eye open for the other two. Regardless if I get them in time, I still plan on reading them, catching up here and there. (Because there will be months where I'm not reading much.)

message 289: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments And there’s super chillers, mini series like the cheerleaders and 99 fear street. Yeah it could go on for quite a while.

message 290: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I’ve got to order the secret bedroom and the sleepwalker.

message 291: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (bookwormahn) Silent Night sounds great for December and don't forget Stine has a few adult books too.

message 292: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Oh yeah! I did forgot about them.

message 293: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I didn't start with any of the Fear Street books when this started, i've just been getting them as I go along, as we plan to read them. I have to get The Sleepwalker, The Stepsister and Silent Night to finish off the year now.

I have 6 more books in the original 62 Goosebumps books to get then i'm going to focus on acquiring all the Fear Street books (up to now i've just gotten the ones we are reading) and the rest of his books. It'll take a long time to get everything he has so many books!

message 294: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I’d read Goosebumps if y’all wanted to but I wouldn’t collect them all, a lot of those are in overdrive.

message 295: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I don't use overdrive but Amazon is generally a good place for me. I'm not picky, new, used, kindle, as long as I can read it i'm good. It's only the original Goosebumps books i'm being picky about getting in physical form because nostalgia lol though not all of them are in original covers.

I've started Halloween Party! I'm literally only on page 10 so far but i'm liking it

message 296: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 1656 comments Latasha wrote: "ok I updated the list. since we only have December left, how about we all agree on one? I nominate Silent Night. it takes place around Christmas. then in January we can start over and make adjustme..."

That would be awesome. If you can incorporate 'Point Horror' titles as well for Stine, they're much more readily available here.

message 297: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I was hoping to read more but i've read half today and I am just so tired. I've read the first 8 chapters. Enjoying it so far.

(view spoiler)

message 298: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I prefer the original covers but I think I have 1 with a new one. I’m sure we’ll get to the others sooner or later.

message 299: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I prefer the original covers too but some books are harder to find than others. Ultimately i'm happy enough if I get the story, but I do have a soft spot for the original covers being a 90s kid.

message 300: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Exactly.
