ok i created a shelf to keep track of the books we've read so far. if i missed one, let me know. the way 2020 is looking, we'll each get to pick 3 books. as long as we haven't read it and it's by r.l. stine, it's good. i don't want to firm anything up yet but just putting this out there. i liked to be prepared and have my duckies in a row.

Chapter 1- well that’s different! We haven’t got any books that’s started out like this before. I like it!

I’m guessing when this book came out, no one knew Shadyside is supposed to be in Ohio. Cause can you really get to the beach in 2 hours from Ohio?

Ohio borders Lake Erie, unless they mean the beach with the ocean..I haven't started it yet. Will soon.

always! my cat doesn't like strangers. it takes him a minute to warm up to you so i don't know about trusting him...he's kinda a jerk! :p

lol! My dog would be a good judge. He's 8 years old and has loved every person he's ever met...except one. And having known said person my entire life I completely understand why. As soon as he met him, he was growling, tail stopped, standing several feet away. Not a happy dog. As soon as he left, tail wags, happy pup again.

It was odd because he had NEVER been like that before, not once. I had thought maybe his sixth sense was broken, but it's not. Almost everyone passes "the Bear test". And if one doesn't, my dog doesn't trust you, neither do I.

Normally he'll lick everyone to death.

My cat for whatever reason does NOT like my dad. Dad likes cats & he’s good with them but not Dorgan. That’s ok, he’s not the greatest person.

The one person my dog doesn't like is my dad. I don't blame my dog either. As soon as he met him he didn't like him.

I'm sorry. It's alright, I never see him anyway really. And my dog loves everyone else. He wants to make friends with the entire world lol. He's very playful and friendly. Which is why it was initially a shock to see him like that. But at least I know to trust him.

That’s great you have him & get to be a part of his life. I think the pets chose us. I’m so glad my cat picked me to be his human.

It is great, and I agree with pets choosing us. I'm glad I get to be a part of the life of all the furbabies that choose me to be their human. Right now I have 2 cats and 1 dog. Love every pet. They are family too.

Done! I liked this one. I had no idea where it was going until later in the book. The ending was YA intense. I’m going with 4 stars.

This is off topic, but I want to vent and I feel like you guys are pretty cool and open-minded people.

So I've been trying to find a pen pal or like chat pals, because to be honest, I'm isolated and lonely. Sad, I know. Anyways, I posted on a couple of pen pal websites and my profile says specifically that I am happily married, no flirting and that I am asexual (pan-asexual to be precise)

Some weird person even sent me a poem that could sound like a creepy death threat. Then another person (20-year-old male) sent me an email and asked me to have an online affair, to have "spicy fun" in our inboxes, but we can never meet. He said he liked older ladies. I'm 35.

I sent him a reply and pretended to sign him up for "Spice Facts" sending him a video of Good Mythical Morning eating Caroline Reapers. lol

I posted the screenshot of this on Reddit and mentioned the asexual thing...etc and a bunch of people were great, it kind of went "hot" in the sub I put it in and is now at the top of the page when you enter that sub. I got a lot of attention, but there are people who keep asking inappropriate things about me being asexual and married. I feel like a rare specimen in an exhibit.

Asking me questions they would never ask a straight couple, saying things like my poor husband, that he must spend his time in the dead bedrooms sub.

"Wait so how's it being asexual and married?bdo you guys gave sex or anything?"

The mods are quick to delete stuff, but you know, I still go through times where I feel broken and guilty for being like this.

My husband is 100% supportive.

It's no more relevant than whether you like your bed cover plain, striped or tropical floral. Who gives a shit? It's your bed, have it how you like it! Feeling isolated is no fun though. My husband is great, but he's not here 24/7 (work and I'm a stay at home wife because of health..etc) and sometimes you just need to connect to people outside of your partner and family. As for the book, I'm sorry I've been so behind! I'm still reading it, but I'm a slowpoke right now. I'm starting to remember the book the more I read it, but I still can't remember the "twist" if there is one or how the story ends. A good thing, I suppose!
