I have no idea! I’ll wait for everyone else to catch up before I move on to the 3rd.

I have to wait until the 10th (most likely, sometimes I get my $ early but usually only when the 10th is a weekend and it's not this month) to be able to get the 3rd, but once I do i'll be able to dive right into it!
I'm ready whenever you all are. Just post here when you get your book, Stephanie!I hope you like #2, Melanie! Tasha is right, if you liked #1 at all, then you should like the next one!

thanks Leigha, I got through almost half last night and enjoyed it, though it's still very 80's with the 'beautiful' blonds and all the other girls being jealous of that!
Finished. I liked how he set up a few mysteries for book three. I didn't guess who the spirit was possessing, I did in the first book but I felt like there were less clues this time.
Jen wrote: "Hi! I just joined this group and I'd love to participate. What are you guys reading this month?"we are currently reading Cheerleaders: the second evil. there's a post on the first page, very first post says what we are reading for the rest of the year. month by month. This is just a buddy read, this is not our monthly group reads. You can still join us, i just didn;t want you to confuse the 2.
I got The Third Evil! And the 4th book The New Evil too :) I know there is a 5th book, might get that next month.
I don’t have those but since they are giving rain for the next 2 weekends 😑 I can start the 3rd one this weekend but y’all don’t have to wait for me.
Stephanie, there is actually three more, though one is a prequel with Sarah Fear (I think) I heard that the books have a lot of inconsistencies, but that is something you can kind of expect with R L Stine. The New Evil, The Evil Lives and The Awakening Evil are the others.Tasha, I'm fine with starting #3 this weekend. There is no rush. The month is still young!
I figured why not get it, The New Evil was only $2 (kindle). Sorry about the rain. I may or may not start The Third Evil today, will see how it goes :)
Leigha wrote: "Stephanie, there is actually three more, though one is a prequel with Sarah Fear (I think) I heard that the books have a lot of inconsistencies, but that is something you can kind of expect with R ..."Oh, I looked at the series page Here and it doesn't have The Awakening Evil so I didn't know about that one, thank you. :)
Edit: And yea, that's to be expected with Stine books.
With the other books I got going on waiting for the weekend shouldn't be a problem. I'm in no rush, just glad to have it now. I'm just not sure how much reading i'll be able to get done this weekend. I might not be able to finish it during the weekend, but at least I can start it then. :)
I'll probably get to #3 early next week. Got to at least finish one of the others I'm reading first.
Latasha wrote: "Did you read these as a teen Melanie?"Not these ones. I actually bought Cheerleaders 2 and 3 in my early 20's, over 20 years ago(!!!) but never could get hold of the 1st one, so a big thank you to my secret santa ;) I used to read a lot of the Point Horror series rather than the Fear Street ones and still have lots of those. That'll have to be a BR once we get through all the Fear Street books.
Yep, another yellowed old-book-smell copy squeezed on my shelf. I'm still trying to find an old copy of One evil Summer.
Latasha wrote: "Ok I’ll keep an eye out for it."Thanks Hon. It's the int shipping that's the killer.
I probably won't be able to start today but i'll try to get to it as soon as I can when others do. :) Don't need to wait for me, i'll get to it.
Okay, I finally found time to finish The Second Evil. It's funny I remember the cheerleaders in my Middle school being obsessed with these three books. There are some of Stine's best.
I was just coming here to comment that I finished Needful Things by King finally! I've been trying to get that finished all month. It's nearly 4am where i'm at right now though and I need to get some sleep, so I was thinking of starting The Third Evil later today or so. Now that i've finally finished that chunker lol.
I'll be starting this weekend but am away from tomorrow for 5 days with no cell reception or internet so I'll be looking forward to catching up on everyone's thoughts next week.
No internet sounds like heaven to me right now actually. Causes so much stress. Is have fun appropriate to where you'll be going?I just started The Third Evil and have read the first chapter. Already liking it! I need something easy and fun to read right now and I think this is just the ticket.

No internet certainly makes me slow down, I tend to be a bat out of hell most of the time! We just bought a wee place at a beach about an hour north of here. The weather's starting to get way too cool for swimming but my hubby fishes and catches crays while I just go for walks and read and crochet in the sun. I'll squeeze in a few afternoon naps as well. :)
Once I got started I couldn't stop! I finished The Third Evil, and I loved it! Look forward to seeing what others think of it.
I am glad you liked it so much! I am reading a bit slower because we've got stuff going on and I'm feeling a bit slumpy.I just finished chapter 3. That was creepy! Ugh!!! *shudders*
Kellie wrote: "I finished Moonlight Secrets. It was ok. It held my interest but wasn’t my favorite."You're not alone! I didn't like it at all, well, maybe there was 5% that was okay. lol Maybe. I gave it a 1 star.

i think i did too. i liked when they found the room in the mansion but i don't think that was real. i think it was an illusion. i'm not reading the other 2 books to find out. lol :p
I'm actually glad they are all in such close proximity. I think it is annoying to go read a sequel and it has such a huge time skip, or the next book is about 100% different characters. There are exceptions to that, of course. I'm glad you enjoyed the book! I am still reading mine. We've got a lot of family stuff going on, but hopefully, I can sneak in some chapters. I have the physical book and the ebook (from Scribd) on my phone. lol
Latasha wrote: "I’m surprised these 3 books takes place in the same year. Pg 5"
I finished the 3rd one this weekend, I liked it but didn't enjoy it as much as the others because (view spoiler)
Melanie wrote: "I finished the 3rd one this weekend, I liked it but didn't enjoy it as much as the others because [spoilers removed]"I liked that part. But I still think I liked the 2nd one best too.
I enjoyed the main three cheerleader books just as much as I did as a preteen/teen. As an adult, there is a lot of stuff that annoys me with R L Stine's writing, but I can sort of forgive/overlook them while wearing nostalgia glasses. I was annoyed by the girl hate and jealousy in these books. lol (view spoiler)
I think i'm seeing the timing of when I read a book probably affects how I feel about it a bit. I was stressed out and needing some turn off brain fun when I read The Third Evil, and I loved it. Back in the beginning of the year, I had just read The Raven Boys and loved it soooo much, then read A New Fear and hated it. If I had been stressed out at the time I might have enjoyed it more, rather than just coming off an amazing book and not being stressed out. That doesn't sound like it makes any sense, but i'm thinking it just might for me lol.
Well I don't think it would completely change my feelings on a book, but a bit maybe.
