Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I'm so sorry guys :( I haven't started it yet but I do believe I read this as a teenager, it came out when I was 16. Of course i'll see when I read it if anything comes back to me or not.

message 752: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 1656 comments Oh no, I'm so bummed, shall I still bother to read it? Life's too short for crap books.

message 753: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (bookwormahn) I still plan to give it a shot.

message 754: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I would still try it. You may like it more than me & Leigha did.

message 755: by Alice (new)

Alice Everyone has different opinions, so go ahead and give it a try if you want to! I gave it a 2 star. "It was ok" but then again, I think I was being too nice.

Spoiler about what Candy did and what they did to Candy. Pretty much spoils everything as I rant.

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I have read 6 chapters so far. I definitely read this when I was a teen! I didn't read the old 90s fear street books growing up because I was born in 89, I was too young in the 90s. I read Goosebumps then but in the 2000s, as a teenager, I read some of the Fear Street books that came out then, this one being one of them. So it does have nostalgia for me though I can't remember what happens, it's just that "oh i've read this, I remember this as i'm reading it" feeling.

(view spoiler)

Of course i've only read 6 chapters so far so I still have a ways to go and I haven't read the spoilers above yet. But i'm enjoying it so far.

message 757: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments Chapter 7 (view spoiler)

Chapter 8/9 (view spoiler)

I've read 13 chapters so far and right now i'm just thinking they are all acting very much like teenagers...which they are so I suppose I should quell my desire to roll my eyes at them. It's making me seriously wonder how I felt about it when I read it as a teenager because I can't remember that part, how I felt about it back then. And that bothers me.

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I have finished it and gave it 3 stars. My review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

message 759: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I’m glad you liked it & it was nostalgic for you.

message 760: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments Thanks, sorry you didn't you like it at all :(

message 761: by Alice (new)

Alice It would be boring if we all had the same thoughts 24/7! I'm glad that you were able to get some enjoyment from it.

---

I can't wait for next months read "The Second Evil"

The second Cheerleading book. Does anyone want to throw in "The Third Evil" as well as a bonus?

message 762: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments That's true, it would be boring if we all had the same thoughts all the time!

I'd be up for reading "The Third Evil" too. I don't have it but it's available on kindle so I can definitely get it :) (I do have the second evil on kindle already)

message 763: by Alice (new)

Alice Cool! The series is actually longer, but The 1st, 2nd & 3rd Evils are the original trilogy. The New Evil, The Evil Lives and The Awakening Evil are the others.

message 764: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments i'll just have to wait and see what the month looks like.

message 765: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I’m ready to read Cheerleaders when ever is good with y’all.

message 766: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 1656 comments I'm good to go when it suits everyone.

message 767: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I'll fit it in whenever others want to go. I won't be getting The Third Evil until the 10th but i'm ready to go with The Second Evil whenever. I do have a buddy read of Needful Things starting the 1st but we've agreed to 50 pages a day, so I can read some other things during that as well. Just mentioning it because it'll probably slow me down, but not stop me. :)

message 768: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I’ll probably start today.

message 769: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Chapter 1 & 2- Just kinda sad.

message 770: by Alice (new)

Alice I'll start today or tomorrow and can do The 3rd Evil on whatever schedule is good for those reading it too. (around the 10th sounds good to me!)

message 771: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Is it me or are these way better than the regular fear street books? I’m on page 96 & it’s crazy! But good.

message 772: by Alice (new)

Alice It isn't just you! This series has always been my favorite out of the Fear Street books. I have heard people not liking them as much and some people loving them. Several podcasts have talked about them and it is interesting hearing everyone's thoughts, theories...etc.

message 773: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I've started it and read the first 2 chapters so far. I can't remember a thing from the first book (my memory sucks). I think it's ok though. And i'm liking it so far, definitely starts out sad. I feel so bad for Corky.

message 774: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I've read the first 5 chapters, and i'm liking it. I'm really liking how the girls seem to be coming together to support Corky, putting aside their differences and becoming friends.

message 775: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Was anyone really still crimping their hair in 1992? I would’ve been 10... I would like to say no but I don’t remember.

message 776: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments Lol I wouldn't know either, I turned 3 that year

message 777: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments 😜

message 778: by Tyler (last edited Apr 01, 2019 04:57PM) (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments Hehe, I was still a toddling toddler at the time. Hey, at least I was alive! 😜 lol

message 779: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Lol that’s true!

message 780: by Alice (new)

Alice I forgot how this one started. The first couple of chapters are very sad! I'm glad they didn't brush the first book off and have amnesia about it, kind of like how Reva had amnesia about becoming a better person. lol

We have another redhead as well. Did Stine have a thing for redheads?

message 781: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Lol ohhhh Reva 😑

message 782: by Alice (new)

Alice Latasha wrote: "Lol ohhhh Reva 😑"

I'm bad with remembering names and stuff, but I will never forget Reva (and Pam for that matter, though she wasn't as bad as her cousin!)

Chapter 2.

That "thing" that happened in the graveyard... a pretty creepy description! I might have got a small shiver. (view spoiler)

message 783: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments yes! i think this one is way spookier than his usual stuff.

message 784: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Omg have y’all got to Sarah Beth yet?! 😱

message 785: by Alice (last edited Apr 02, 2019 04:53PM) (new)

Alice They just met her! I liked how we met her. Corky is really thinking she is... (view spoiler)

I don't remember Sarah Beth's role in the book yet.

message 786: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I have, I just finished chapter 11. I'm halfway through the book.

Chapter 11, Sean is now Scan and Kimmy is now Kinimy lol.(view spoiler)

I'm enjoying it. And I worry for Corky.

message 787: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I just finished. Omg this one!! I’m giving it 5 stars. When they make the fear st. Movie, they should sooooo use these books.
Sarah bet is gonna blow your mind. She did mine! 🤯

message 788: by Alice (last edited Apr 02, 2019 05:17PM) (new)

Alice I just got to the same part, Stephanie!

I'm glad you liked it so much, Tasha! I hope the Fear Street movie is good and aimed for the adults that would be nostalgic for it, so actually horror/scary...etc. I would love if the Cheerleaders was the plot of the movie.

message 789: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments They are going to make a Fear Street movie? 😲

message 790: by Alice (new)

Alice Apparently, it is going to be an original story and it is now reported to be a trilogy. The main characters are reported to be two gay teens. 1 in present time and 1 in the past (so a past/present timeline) It does seem to be targeting teens, which makes sense, but I really hope it is an actual horror film.

Here is the sort of plot

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments Interesting. Thank you for telling me :) I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

message 792: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (bookwormahn) I'll start The Second Evil Tonight.

message 793: by Alice (new)

Alice Stephanie, I got to a part with them playing with candles (fire) I don't know if that is foreshadowing to any fire later on, but just in case, letting you know!

message 794: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments Leigha wrote: "Stephanie, I got to a part with them playing with candles (fire) I don't know if that is foreshadowing to any fire later on, but just in case, letting you know!"

Thanks for the heads up :)

message 795: by Alice (new)

Alice You're welcome. There was no fire, but things were compared to flames and stuff like that, and talking about the flickering flame of the candles.

---

I've finished! I liked it a lot. It was a lot better than I remembered. I think I will also give it a 5 star. What a wild ride!

message 796: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments Really glad everyone is having fun with this one. Last I heard the movie was gonna be a trilogy. I hadn’t heard about the 2 gay teens. I’m fine with that. I just hope the story is good!

message 797: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 1656 comments I'm so looking forward to starting this one, might try and get going tomorrow. Alas, tonight my eyes just won't stay open any longer.

message 798: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments If you liked the first one, you’ll love this one.

message 799: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 936 comments I definitely enjoyed this one, even more than the first! I did not see that ending coming! I gave it a 4.25, I gave the first one a 3.5. Now i'm wondering how it all ends, the original trilogy anyway.

message 800: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I have no idea! I’ll wait for everyone else to catch up before I move on to the 3rd.
