Feb's book is
The New Boy
The list of books is in the very first post. We have a book picked for every month of 2019, so far. We usually talk close to the end of the previous month about when to start the next book. So we will probably start The New Boy within the first week of Feb, depending on what everyone else is finishing reading...etc. There is no rule that we have to read it at the exact same time, but it is nice when we are all discussing it as we go (with spoiler tags, of course.)

No problem! Hope I'm not stepping on any mod toes by answering questions. :)

Thanks Leigha!
February is looking kinda busy so I’ll just go along with whatever y’all pick for the start date.

Thank you :) My plans are just saying goodbye to my 20s lol

I'm crying (and screaming) inside. I'm currently in a state of denial, which I probably will be until 9:49pm on the 10th. The minute I was born lol. I'll be saying "I am not 30 until 9:49 pm!) but then that will come and i'll probably cry for real lol

I can't even really complain to my husband because he'll just remind me he's going to be 40 in August lol
I'm sure i'll get used to it :)

3 years older than her. I always use her math 😝"
Lol!

The 8th sounds like a good day start The New Boy for me.

Wow, the first time I'm in a group of people with most everyone at 30+ Whenever I find myself in some sort of group (for reading, writing...etc) I always end up with teenagers or early 20s. I used to role-play (writing stories with a partner) and all the players were young. I turned down a lot of young partners because no matter how innocent I am, it could bite me in the butt.
I never partnered with her, but we found out someone who was saying she was 20+ and doing sexual role plays was actually 9!!
Sorry I got on a weird tangent.

Thank you and yay for leveling up!
Thank you too Leigha! Sorry, seems we posted at the same time. :)

Shit Leigha that 's friggin' terrifying, at 9 I was still playing with my Barbies and hoping to become a mermaid!

It wasn't a bad site, but not run by professionals by any means and they never thought about putting an official age limit in the rules. They did change it so you could be there at 16+ with parent permission (for the members who were already there before the age limit changed) and 18+ for new members and only 18+ could be in mature role plays. Those days are gone, the site ended up getting shut down anyway. The server did not approve of things about PG13.
I stopped at a used book store and found blind date and beach party and s few others I didn’t have. All 1.50 or less!

SCORE! I want a used book store like that near me.

Thank you! :)

I'm only on chapter 2 of this book, so hopefully the girl in this is nothing like Reva haha
Chapter 1-2
Do you notice there is always some form of body shaming in the first few chapters?
Nice joke to play on a friend.
Why you all got to be so boy crazed?

With the nostalgic factor, I can overlook/put on nostalgia blinders for the most part, but boy do most, if not all female main characters in R L Stine's books do dumb things! I know these books are the product of the 90s and things were really different in the world back then and people are smarter today about dating, going places with strangers...etc (at least I hope so! Play it safe, folks!)
I still like Fear Street, some of the storylines are more hit and miss than others. I like how you can read the stories in whatever order, but there are small nods to other books that you will notice if you've read a bunch. This book mentioned the Dalby Department store and Pam Dalby, who are from the Silent Night books.(Remember dear Reva?)
Also, Ricky Schorr (the class clown) is mentioned and he shows up in a few books when someone is yelling at him, accusing him of doing something, like setting off a stink bomb. The main book where he had a bigger role was The Halloween Party. That's pretty neat. One day I will challenge myself to actually read them in order. (If I can ever find and buy them all.)
