I really, really like what happens in the prologue. that screams of urban legend goodness. I'm up to chapter 2 but will probably read a lot today.

I have read chapters 2-4. I must say it's interesting reading it after all this time. It's so familiar (even though it must have been about 15 years ago that I read it) I do remember teen me thought Reva was a bitch. Adult me...agrees.

This book does not give me a good first impression. I read it as a teen and I don't remember thinking how horrible Reva was though I must have because Reva is disgusting (how she acts toward her boss and how she makes fun of other people...etc) I would never wish bodily harm on anybody, but I can see why someone would want to target her, as wrong as it is to hurt somebody, regardless if they are a horrible person or not.

I really dislike Reva. She is taking things too far with everything, like attempting to steal someone's boyfriend. Who does she think she is? At least she has a human soft spot for her little brother. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 10

Ugh!! Reva!! (view spoiler)[She should not have kissed Mitch, but he also shouldn't have kissed back. Not victim blaming, just thinking how I would act in the situation. I don't think I would be shocked into kissing back as some people say, but it has never happened to me, so I can't tell you if that is a true thing to happen when someone kisses you.

First off, Reva/R L Stine, ever heard of consent? As a kid/teen, I never thought much of character A kissing character B out of the blue with no permission, but as an adult, I can see how messed up that is. If Mitch did this to another girl, people would say it was assault?

Am I just too old and bitter now? I guess an unexpected kiss can be taken many ways, depending on your relationship with the other person? I've been only with one person and now I am married to that person, so I don't have a lot of experience, I suppose. (hide spoiler)]

I find it amusing how outdated these books are. When I read them, I never thought "one day VCRs are going to be a thing of the past." When I read these, I think it was still pretty neat to have a VCR, big boxed desktop computer(& dial-up Internet), cd players...etc. The 90s man!

Chapter 14/15

That man could have found a better way to inform Reva what he did to her car. I don't think the world was as scary in the 90s as it is today (I mean today we have better records, so maybe the 90s were just as scary) but the way that man acted screamed predator.

Chapter 9 (view spoiler)[The way Mickey's dad is and the other night security dude Maywood (helping with the robbing of the store)...just ugh. Mickey's dad, imo, deserved to be fired because he was drinking on the job, and now the security guard feels bad for him because he was rightfully fired so to get back at Mr. Dalby is going to help the kids rob the store....seriously? The adults should know better.

I feel bad for Mickey of course, he's a teenager and it ruins the holidays for him, but it's his dad's own fault.

Pam mentions that there was a time Reva had been nicer...she became meaner after her mother died. Pam then goes on to think "Is she angry because my mother is still alive and her's isn't? No that was too crazy. The idea that Reva, who had everything, could be jealous of Pam was just too absurd. Pam refused to believe it." but I remember earlier in the book Reva mentioned that she is envious of Pam (even as she looks down on her for being poor) though that's in chapter 2 and it doesn't say that Reva is envious of Pam's mother still being alive, but something about her blonde hair and the way she is with people.

Still for a lot of kids that lose their parents or a parent it's easy to believe they'd be envious of someone else that still has their parent(s), and many kids/teens act out/act up when they are upset about something like that. No it wouldn't excuse Reva for anything, but it'd make it more understandable and it would make sense. (hide spoiler)]

Missing is still my favorite out of my re-reading of them so far.

I finally had time to read it. I really enjoyed this one. There were a lot of twists and turns that I didn't see.I wasn't very fond of Reva even after she was acting nicer but, I'm curious to see how she will act in the next books.

I bought Silent Night 2 and 3 on kindle and while Silent Night 2 does have the Silent Night 1 cover, it is Silent Night 2.

So the seemingly character arc of Reva becoming a better person in Silent Night 1 is for...nothing? Of course. I suspected that but was hoping she actually learned something. I plan on starting Silent Night 2 soon.

I've also read Chapter 1 and I agree with you. I've read this before, but I couldn't remember how this book started for the life of me, so the first chapter had me confused for a little bit and then I was like O.O really!?

I'm kind of sad by the summary makes it seem that Reva doesn't hang onto her "lessons" from the first book and is up to her old tricks, but I guess we shall see.

I've finished. So much messed up stuff in this... I can't even. Are there really people in the world like these characters? Frightening... yikes.

(view spoiler)[Where do I even start? Family is family, right? Close or not, if you are a mega-rich dude wouldn't you help pay the ransom for your niece? Of course, Reva was Reva again, but I feel like she was TOO much Reva for how she acted after Pam got kidnapped, making it all about "me, me, me, but of course, I feel bad about Pam, but me, me, me." She does seem to have a heart somewhere; I mean she's shown it.

I would say Reva has PTSD over what happened in book 1 and the way her dad is like "you just have to get over it...move on...etc," that isn't how you should help someone with PTSD!! I bet they never put her in therapy or anything.

Pam... as much as you might hate someone for getting with your boyfriend, would you send kidnappers after them? I mean, I guess you wouldn't be thinking rationally if you were in a life or death situation, but... I dunno.

In the end, all is forgiven, Reva has learned her lesson again, she and Pam are friends again and Victor is never called out for his cheating. Oh, joy. I wonder what book three will be about. (hide spoiler)]

good lord! the materialistic view of Christmas in this book. I do think money can buy a great deal of happiness but damn. maybe because I have family I love, Christmas is never all about money and gifts for us and Pres and Diane did not seem to have any. and they didn't seem too crazy about Danny.
Pam did surprise me too but I don't half blame her. Reva won't change and to hell with her. I don't think she will be any different in book 3. maybe after 2 horrible holiday's Daddy will just send her some place warm and be done with it lol.

Reva is a spoiled rich asshole and she plays with people's emotions and lives and almost gets killed for it. says she will change but doesn't seem to and i'm up to book 3. her mom died in a plane crash. papa owns super fancy dept. stores, Dalby's.

I finished Silent Night 2 and I don't understand why Reva's father wants her at the store. With her attitude I would be embarrassed for people to know she was my daughter. Also I think Dianne was extremely delusional and the other two were just idiots.
