Any workaround for No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' error?

I'm a web development student trying to use the Goodreads API for a side project. Any JavaScript fetch request is giving me an error of "No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource." Searching around on this forum and the wider web makes the problem sound rather insurmountable. Is there a workaround? Is this more trouble than it's worth for a little side project? Thanks!
