This is a bit of a stretch, and I think the answer is no, but I want to ask anyway. :D Could I count Between Shades of Gray as the start of a series, since Salt to the Sea is set during the same time and is about Lina's cousin?

I think they go by the series number on Goodreads and since neither has a series number I don't think it will work. :(

I'm afraid I can't find it listed as a series anywhere, so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to count it as that.

if you started the series this month then yes it does count but if you are continuing this month it doesn't

From what I understand, you can read the second in a series as long as you read the first one during this challenge and it was a new to you series.

Yes, its 2 years since we did the resolution challenge. If I remember rightly it caused problems because people kept reading books which didn't fit into their resolutions :/

You can read books which are second in the series or later, as long as you started the series for the first time this January. Just post each book as 'new series' when you post your reviews ☺
