Question: So for new books, can it be published any time in 2017 or is there a cut off date?
I can't wait for teams! It's been a bit lonely since the last two months have just been two big teams. Can't wait to see who is on my team and I really hope they are chatty!!! ^-^

Actually naaaaaaaa I'll go serious, as I'm going camping from 2-14 January (so won't be able to update :/ I'll have so much to update when I get home) and will be reading heaps, and I have no uni. Yeah serious for me. Not many people doing this challenge this time around.

This will be a team reading challenge which will run from January 1st 2018 to January 31st 2018. Results will be announced on February 1st 2018.
This challenge is all about everything new, simply read books which fit the categories, and enjoy!
Categories:
-read a new-to-you author,
-read a new-to-you series
-read a new-to-you genre
-read a new book (published 2017/2018)
-read a book with less than 100 ratings on Goodreads
-read an ARC
-read a book with 'new' in the title
Points:
*50 - 99 pages = 0.5 points
*100 - 199 pages = 1 point
*200 - 299 pages = 2 points
*300 - 399 pages = 3 points
*400 - 499 pages = 4 points
*500 - 599 pages = 5 points
*600+ pages = 6 points
(maximum of 6 points per book)
*Buddy reads DOUBLE your points score, so a 300 page book + buddy read = 6 points. 600 page book + buddy read = 12 points. (Bonus points for buddy reads will only be given if the buddy read has taken place in our group.)
Rules:
* This challenge will run from January 1st to January 31st, with results announced on February 1st.
*Books started before Janaury can be used, but you must only claim the number of pages read in January. (and books must still fit the challenge categories)
*Buddy reads must still have a minimum of 4 comments to count.
*4 detailed updates can be used instead of a review.
*Graphic novels and poetry books may be used, but must be posted in multiples of 300 pages, and will only receive 1/3 regular points, so 300 pages will be worth 1 point.

This challenge will be a team challenge. When signing up please let us know if you want to join a 'Serious' team (reading 12 books or more), a 'medium' team (reading 8-12 books) or a 'Just for fun' team (reading any number of books). You may also sign up as a solo participant.
