I loved, loved the Temerair series. I listened to them all!
The same narrator also narrated the 20 books in the Aubrey/Maturin Series. Novik also loved the series. The first one is Master and Commander

I saw that when I looked up the narrator on overdrive to make sure he does the whole series. Temeraire has a certain voice now- cant mess with it. My library has the whole series except for Crucible of Gold. Why library, why?
Based solely on the title I'm hoping Throne of Jade will be set in China but I'm 5th in the hold line.

Maybe by the time you get to book #7 your library will have it. Does your system allow you to recommend books? Maybe you can recommend that they buy it. I have done it lots of times at my library.

Yes my library will buy books I ask them to. I don't know if I can ask for audio books though... They have it on paper anyways so I'll just have to read it the old fashioned way :)

I would have used a Temerier book for this task, but unfortunately, I had already read them all. I am still making my way through the Aubrey/Maturin series that the author loosely based her series on. I have two left. All of them plus the Temeraire books were narrated by Simon Vance, my favorite narrator.

I like Simon Vance too. He reads Tigana, A Secret Kept and the series starting with The Anatomist's Apprentice. And I'm much more likely to listen to them knowing that he's the narrator. I will probably try the Master and commander series too one day but after I finish Temeraire.

I was just reading it. You guys picked up on some things early that I didn't. I'm reading it because I'm still not clear on some things like (view spoiler)[who drew the some of the chalk men. Eddie is really messed up (hide spoiler)]

I did! The narrator was delightful (British). And I can really sympathize with wanting to stay inside and drink tea when its cold outside.
The mystery was alright, I picked up 1 clue that gave me the correct hunch on who did it but not the why of it.
I'll be reading the next one for the Dec movie challenge.

Yes, James Langton is a great narrator. I have listened to all of the books in the series. I love the characters more than the mystery, most of the time.
