I am trying to find a series I read a few years ago but am drawing a blank on the name and author. The main character of the series is female and she has a boyfriend who turns out to be a dragon shifter. They aren't a couple until a book or two into the series. They are friends because he is her best friends cousin. The story line in one of the books is her investigating a murder of a relative where a dragon scale is found at the crime scene. She is unaware of dragons at this point and doesn't yet know that her boyfriend is half dragon. She goes to a palm reader that she knows from the dance club she likes to go to with her best friend and learns to go to scotland to show the scale to an artist who is the palm reader's sister. The sister sculpts dragons and turns out to be a go between for anyone looking to deal with the dragons. The boyfriend hides from the other dragons because in the past the full blooded dragons used to kill half breeds. She meets the dragon king in scotland and becomes friends with him and the rest of the dragon clan than finds out she is called the dragon flame (I think I am remembering the title wrong). The boyfriend gets almost killed and the dragon king is able to save him by placing him into a dragon egg to regenerate. I also remember something about a man who owns a bookstore and is often called on for help for his knowledge and his special book that answers question by pages flipping to the answer. Can anyone tell me what the name of this series is? I would love to reread it. Thanks for letting me pick your brains. I appreciate anyone who is willing to help me out.

Sunwalker Saga There are 8 books. I am rereading the series now. I remember enjoying the books but its been a few years.
