Rachel Bea (gekrepten) | 1761 comments Hi horror friends! At some point this year, I listened to the audio of a scary story. I went through my bookshelves on here and I can't find it in an anthology I read. I THINK I listened to the audio on youtube... Not sure.

Anyway, I don't remember much about the story, other than it scared me. The basic plot points I can remember include a man staying in a tower (or an attic?) in a creepy room that has a painting above his bed. It might have been his childhood home?

Ring any bells? I do not think it's a contemporary piece...

Terry | 5364 comments There is a short story similar, but not exactly like that, in Skeleton Crew by King. It was called The Reaper's Image.

Thanks, Terry! I don't think that's it. :(

Funny enough I googled what I could remember from the plot and I did get a stephen king story, not the one you suggested though, but I don't think that was it...

Funn..."

I figured it was a long shot. It is funny also that your description kinda fits an episode of Rod Serling's Night Gallery TV show that I can remember. Don't know which episode, but I remember images in a painting being the main plot line. I'm sure that's not it either, though.

That's what I got when I googled the plot.. but I don't think that was it lol. Although damn, it sounds similar after reading the wiki entry. But something feels missing in the synopsis... IDK. Maybe I'm just going crazy lol.
