No, I'm sorry but I did get it from the library a couple days ago. I've been busy doing a challenge and it's requiring specific books. I'll try to read book 1 ASAP. I had forgotten about it.

For me, it would be a good idea if we could if it works for Ashlyn, too.

Yes. I have the audiobook for the first one, so it will definitely take me more than a couple days to listen to it.

I'll be travelling in the beginning of February. Do you think you'd be able to get to this before that? Otherwise I can read it when I get back home. I don't want to take the book with me because it's a library book and I'm afraid I'll lose it or something :)

We still have a couple weeks, so I can get the first 1 read but not sure about Ashlyn. If she thinks she can, we could schedule it for the end of January. Otherwise I'm okay with when you get back.

I'll be on a trip from Feb 2nd to 11th so I'll be able to start after that. I doubt I'll have time before it. But you guys can of course start earlier if you want.

I am only 37% through the first book, so after the 11th would be better for me.

My phone broke, and that is what I used to listen to my audiobooks on. Once I figure out what to listen to them on now, I will finish the first book and can read this one. Sorry that it is taking so long.

No problem! I will probably have to start in early March because I got my copy from the library and it will expire in March. But I don't mind if you start later ☺

I started today because I need to take my copy back to the library soon. I've read the first 6 chapters now.

I wasn't the biggest fan of (view spoiler)[ Elisa in the first book but I'm glad to see how much stronger she has become. I actually like her a lot now and I think it's sad how she is not respected in her own court. I wonder who the assassin in the catacombs was. Was it someone from the cave village and if so who sent him? Lo Chato? And is he really alive?

I find it weird that Mara appears so weak in this book when she was such a strong person in Shattered mountain. Now she's just happy to be Elisa's chambermaid and take care of the domestic stuff. I kind of miss her spirit. (hide spoiler)]

I'm not sure if (view spoiler)[ Tristan should be trusted. Does he really bring up everything just by accident or does he know more than he lets on? I wonder if Elisa will travel to Selvarica now that it seems the Gate of life might be there. Also I think someone really must want Elisa dead instead of just taking her alive. Otherwise, why the poison? (hide spoiler)]

Chaoter 20

Well, I had a feeling (view spoiler)[ Elisa and Hector would fall for each other. I wonder why Ximena seems to be so strongly opposed to them being together. Is it only because Eliza is a queen?

I must say I didn't expect Tristan to be dishonest because he loved another. I hope he can be trusted in other matters now. Right now I don't really no who to trust. I wouldn't have thought conde Eduardo worked with an Invierne spy. Of corse it's possible he doesn't know about Franco's origin but I doubt that. I wonder if Franco was behind those assassination attempts.

Interesting that Eliza is leaving Ximena behind. I really like how strong she has become. (hide spoiler)]

I really liked this book. I think it was better than the first. I didn't expect (view spoiler)[ Elisa to send Ximena away but I'm kind of glad she did. It'll be interesting to see whether Storm remains loyal once they reach Invierne. He did, after all, refuse to answer Elisa's question whether he would turn her in to the inviernos.

I also liked it that she didn't take zafira with her from the cave. It would have made everything too easy if she suddenly became all powerful. (hide spoiler)]
