Nik Krasno | 19850 comments The wonders of technology allow us to engineer and modify products and organisms and maybe soon - to create new ones. Similar to cloning the reception whether in scientific or consumer circles varies.
What's your attitude? And would you yourself undergo genetic 'correction'?

That's certainly a tendency picking up big time recently. Entire departments in supermarkets are allocated to offer natural, supposedly healthier products.. It's just the price difference is kinda drastic..

Graeme Rodaughan I generally agree with Denise. However, I think this particular future is inevitable as everything that confers competitive advantage will be adopted.

Sarah (sarahsweetz25) | 9 comments In this era, anything from air till water is not pure. Wrt to food or food products, mostly naturally obtained, preservative-free, pesticide-free is good but only if we grow in our garden, we can ensure this.

There are already some products wrt to facial creams which have been proven to alter the DNA content of us. I think we have already started undergoing genetic correction.

With more use of human brain in an I-am-gonna-change-the-world- attitude, things will only get worse, though still it is in our hands to have healthy food, fruits, boiled pulses, dates, use of turmeric and pepper more in food, less use of salt, sugar and oil.

People choose high price commodities without seeing the contents and the info of them in the packet which people must be educated to see and understand.

:-)

Graeme Rodaughan Hi Scout, you sound like I feel.

Quantum (quantumkatana) Direct modification of genetic material is an extension of and will ultimately be a more effective and efficient means of what humans have done since the beginning of systematic agriculture and animal husbandry: selective breeding. As with almost all science and technological advances, it's a double-edged sword.

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments With predicted famine and other doom and gloom would GMO jump into the front stage?

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8071 comments I think we're already there, whether or not it's a good thing.
