I really liked Genny and I'm glad she's not dead. She does seem really ignorant about the plight of the poor, especially elves. It seems like she's aware of her ignorance now.

I thought Royce and Hadrian's part started a bit slow, but seem to be picking up towards the end of this section.

I feel like I'm missing a lot of Easter eggs. It's been awhile since I read the original series, so I don't remember a lot of details of the woman whose been giving them their jobs.

I'm not sure if there is more related to why the guy at the beginning was killed.

I do recognize the name of the boat. Apparently the dead King's boat shows up later.

I also really like the old lady they are renting a room from.

Suzanne | 1582 comments I like the old lady they are renting from also. But yeah - I'm not sure if there is something going on with the guy they captured that got killed at the very first. It SEEMS like that should have some kind of tie-in.

I do like Royce's crush on Gwen. It is fun to see that still at the very beginning of the relationship.

The city seems interesting, and I'm enjoying the Royce/Hadrian banter. I also liked the little we saw at the very first of "Winter's Daughter." When she argued with the merchant, but in such a nice way, and then rescued the kid.
