I loved that one. Mary Roach is awesome. :)
I read Doll Bones by Holly Black. It was a cute, quick read, but obviously you should only read it if you enjoy middle-grade fiction. I read a lot of that because I missed my calling as a children's librarian. If I get to live my life over again, I am definitely going with that as a career choice. Too old now to get the necessary degrees for that one.
Just finished reading Blood in the Cotswolds by Rebecca Tope This is the fifth in the series, but I found it was not up to this author's usual standard. I left some unanswered questions.
Marie wrote: "I read Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill. Definitely recommend it if you like horror, and it would work for the ghost story prompt too."I am starting this one today for this challenge.
I am reading City of Bones by Martha Wells. It's funny, but in this thread there are 3 different books titled "City of Bones"!The second book for this prompt is Blood Magic (World of the Lupi #6) by Eileen Wilks.
Christine wrote: "I was thinking about reading In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Has anyone read it?"I grew up in Kansas so it was unofficially required reading in high school.
It is creepy but good and reads like fiction. I know there was a lot of controversy about this novel around January of 2014 questioning the accuracy of the novel and talking about his unprecedented access to those involved. But either way, it is a great book.
I've got 3 for this prompt:The Breast (Didn't think too many people would have this body part on their list) - Kind of a modern day Metamorphisis
White Teeth I'm almost finished with this one. Really enjoying it so far
Heart of a Dog I haven't started this one yet. I'll get to it soon.
I'm undecided between three books on my TBR list for this one: The Unwomanly Face of War: An Oral History of Women in World War II
River of Teeth
Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness
Im reading City of Bones. I have been wanting to read this for awhile and it fits perfectly for this category.
I read Cross Your Heart and Hope to Die, from a mystery series by Nancy Martin. I didn't want anything clinical, nor did I want anything gory, so I opted for funny mystery.
I'm planning to read Under the Skin by Michel Faber. It's also on the 1001 Books list, which I'm hoping to make further progress on.He is also the author of The Crimson Petal and the White which I really enjoyed, though this book looks to be completely different. Also it's much shorter!

You should also read Faber's The Book of Strange New Things. I read it for Week 49, a book on one of Goodreads' Best Books of the Month lists.
I read A Morbid Taste for Bones by Ellis Peters. It was a great bit of fun and I will read others in this series. When I need a break from the very serious reading, I will have these as a go to.
What are you reading for this category?I ended up doing a re-read for this one and read Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop
Okay so I feel like I’m cheating a little but I’m doing The Tell-tale heart by Edgar Allen Poe which is just a short story. Primarily I’m doing it because the WiFi’s out at my house rn so I can’t download left hand of darkness on my amazon fire and I’m trying to catch up on my challenge.
I read Blood in the Water: The Attica Prison Uprising of 1971 and Its Legacy for this prompt. It was a really good read, and I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for nonfiction for this prompt.
I’d been looking and trying to work out something for this and I picked up the book I was in the middle of but haven’t read for two days.....Her Pretty Face by Robyn Harding. Yeahhhhh silly me lol
Whoa! I stuck with my original choice here, Lost Memory of Skin, a book about a young homeless sex offender who is befriended by an anthropologist. Very well written and a good story. I felt a lot of sympathy for the main character once I learned his story. Bad choices. Sad.For Mid Grade I read Junie B., First Grader: Toothless Wonder. Cute books, my daughter is reading them independently now and enjoys this series.
For picture books we read Thirteen Moons on Turtle's Back, a book about Indian Folklore and the narratives they create around the different phases of the moon. This has a lot of text and the girls lost interest. They did like the wolf moon though because...wolves.
I've got a lot of books with "body" in the title. Does that count? It's not really a part, rather the entire thing...
- What are you reading for this category? You Can't Touch My Hair: And Other Things I Still Have to Explain by Phoebe Robinson
- What are you reading for this category? I read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I liked this book much more than the 5th one. It took me a little while to get through. I'm kind of sad I'm almost done the series!
