The first ever book I added to my Goodreads TBR was She's Not There: A Life in Two Genders. I finished reading it yesterday. So far I am on track with this reading challenge!

What are you reading for this category?Someone Else's Fairytale by E.M. Tippetts
When did you add the book your TBR?
April 14, 2013
Nadine- AR is accelerated reader, a program used in schools. The kids read a book and then take a quiz. Each books is worth a certain amount of points based on length and difficulty. My son is required to get a certain number of non fiction points and the rest can be fiction.

Just about to finish
(The Girl of Fire and Thorns). It’s really good so far and can’t wait to see how it unfolds
What are you reading for this category? The Killings at Badger's Draft, by Caroline Graham
When did you add the book your TBR? September 12, 2014, It's the oldest book on my TBR list.
I didn’t pull from Goodreads...I actually used my more updated tbr. So, for this prompt I did Annie Dillard’s The Writing Life.
I chose Four: A Divergent Story Collection, which has been on my list since the first week I started using Goodreads, 2 years ago. It has been a long time since I read the Divergent Series Box Set, but the characters came back to me right away and I really enjoyed it. It feels good to finally have the series finished!
I’m reading Physics of the Future by Michio Kaku. It’s the lightest out of my first 10 (a 600 page classic and the rest are about quantum physics and astrophysics). I didn’t want to start with something too heavy this early in the year.
I'm reading Lost in Shangri-la: A True Story of Survival, Adventure, and the Most Incredible Rescue Mission of World War II this week. I just joined GR in October, and this seemed like the best bet for me to finish.
I added The Goddess Chronicle by Natsuo Kirino to my TBR list in January 2013. It was #2 in my list and I had a physical copy sat on my bookshelf so it seemed like a good choice. :)
So this is weird. I'm not sure why I went back but I sorted through my TBR and can't figure out how I came up with my three choices for first 10 added to TBR. Looking now I have a completely different top 10 and the dates are accurate. No matter how I sort I can't figure out how I arrived at my original choices :-/I may or may not change....I was kind of set on My Wally Lamb book, Like, REALLY excited about it, lol.
What are you reading for this category?
I ended up reading What Was She Thinking? Notes on a Scandal , which was apparently the first book I ever added to Goodreads (or at least, the first one that is still on my TBR). And it just kind of reinforced the fact that there's a reason why I never go read books that sit on my TBR for that long, because it was pretty awful.

When did you add the book your TBR?
I added this book March 14, 2016. So basically I have been wanting to read this book since before it came out! I haven't been using Goodreads for very long (joined in 2015 I think), so that's why my oldest date isn't too old. I really liked this category though because I'm always looking for excuses to make some headway on my massive TBR list!

Might have to switch I guess, it looks like the first 10 on my TBR are:Unaccustomed Earth
Shanghai Girls
Peony in Love
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making
Delirium
My Name Is Memory
Room
Sister
A Thousand Splendid Suns
and
A Great and Terrible Beauty
all added on 2/9/2012 and 2/16/2012
Sometime (probably November of 2015) during my Goodreads career I did a great purge and cleared out my whole TBR list with the rationalization that if I really wanted to read it that bad it would find it's way back to my list. I've been on Goodreads since May of 2012 but my first added books are from November of 2015. I'm tossing between My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, & Jodi Meadows or Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
- What are you reading for this category? Stalked by Brian Freeman

April 2011. I might have added it after i read and enjoyed the first two books in this series, i just never bought it to read it.
What are you reading for this category? Sunshine by Robin McKinley

A friend recommended this years ago. I tried to read it then, but couldn't get into it so it languished on my TBR shelf for almost 6 years. Finally got through it this time. It was alright.
- What are you reading for this category? I finally finished An American Tragedy! - When did you add the book your TBR? (date listed under 'date added') April 2012- when I joined GR.
For this challenge I read "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" by Ken Kesey. Loved the book and will not have to watch the movie!
My TBR is on my library card... I think its only about 2-3 year old cause I had to get a new card at that time when Overdrive switched to different library in my area. The book I chose was Until I Say Goodbye: A Book about Living It was an inspiring memoir.
I completed Jack Glass by Adam Roberts for this task. It has been on my Goodreads' TBR since Sep. 2, 2013. I suspect that it was an initial site recommendation that caught my eye but was not available locally.
I read Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds, a tense space opera with some great worldbuilding. I bought my copy around 15 years ago.
For this week, I'm reading The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. I'm very excited about it! And glad to finally unearth it from my early TBR, where it was originally added to the list way back in September 2011. Achoo! I'm sneezing from the dust on the cover! Lol.

I remember loving this book. Hope you do too.
What are you reading for this category? I just finished Looking for Alaska for this prompt. Thank god this was one of my first 10, since the rest were all very lengthy classics!
When did you add the book your TBR? (date listed under 'date added')
March 9, 2015. It was that day (or around then, anyway) that I started my Goodreads account and added literally about 20-30 books that I'd been meaning to read just to play around with the site and see how things work.
For this one I read Forever . . .. It's one I've never read but of course have heard about for years. I didn't love it, but it was good to read it since it's one of those books that gets talked about so much.
I read Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. I am doing a Pulitzer Prize challenge and it was on that. I added it to the TBR in May 2011, which was the month that I joined GR.
- What are you reading for this category? Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
- When did you add the book your TBR? (date listed under 'date added')
October 11, 2011, that was my first day on Goodreads. :D This is the 4th book I added.
Such a lovely book, Ana...I'm glad you are going to get to it at last. I think this category was a nice push for some of us.
I listened to an audiobook for The Help. I added it in May 2014, but I was rather hesitant about reading it since I've already watched the movie (which was great by the way) and I knew the overall story. Still I really enjoyed the book, it gave me many interesting details that the movie didn't include.
I'm finally reading Cutting for Stone. I added it to my TBR in March 2010. What the what?? How has that much time gone by?
Hope you enjoy Cutting for Stone as much as I did, Liz. I had it on my bookshelf for several years before I got to it...but better late than never. And, I so agree, life speeds past us!
What are you reading for this category?Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise
When did you add the book to your TBR? (date listed under 'date added')

Something really strange happened with my TBR here. When I ordered the books on my list to the fit the prompt, I came up with I Know This Much Is True, The Hour I First Believed and The Story of Edgar Sawtelle and I was so excited! I love Wally Lamb and I really would have loved to read ANY of these. However, on a second look when I ordered them, NONE of these was in my first 10. I have no idea what I did.I ended up reading Peony in Love. I enjoy Lisa See very much because I always learn so many fascinating things about Chinese culture. This wasn't one of my favorites from her, she's done much better, but I loved it anyways.
For the kids I hit the girls "Book stacks" ( the books they pulled out and made piles of that they want to read, like mommy ) and chose one of the first ten off of their piles. Although they have their own GR pages, they don't really have TBRs on them yet. We're getting there slowly. Ugh managing 3 good reads accounts is time consuming....
Mid Grade: Winter Pony, A follow up to one of my childhood favorites , Summer Pony. It wasn't as good as the original but there was a nice surprise in there.
And for Picture Books Next Time You See a Pill Bug, because my little one is obsessed with these cute little rollie polly's.
I believe my book was added in Jan or Feb of 2012 when I joined GRs. The girls stacks were new, they made them when I started pulling my challenge books off the shelves and piling them up.
What are you reading for this category? Quicksilver
When did you add the book your TBR?
No idea, I've only had goodreads for a couple years, I'm pretty sure I bought it back in college at some point. I DNFed it once, and finally decided to read it for this prompt. I don't use the "want to read" feature with any regularity, or keep any other kind of record of books that I intend to read. Usually if I really want to read something, I read it, unless I can't find it at the library or for a good deal.
Sheri wrote: "I don't use the "want to read" feature with any regularity, or keep any other kind of record of books..."Bless you Sheri, lol. My TBR here is at probably close to 2000 books 😳. I see things in my feed and add them if friends have given them good reviews or they sound interesting, and then I have tons that get added as I'm going along making my challenge lists. Add to that any give aways entered ( haven't won one of those in many years because I never got around to reviewing two of the three I was given) and there you have it. I have no idea whats even on there anymore, but I have slowly started taking a stab at removing some of them.
I mean I have a huge stack of digital impulse buys on my kindle, but some of them came in bundles and such, so while at some point I'll probably read them, calling that a "TBR" list is kinda generous. Really, if I WANT to read a book, I will order it from the library and read it as soon as manageable. Or if it's a book from a favorite author that I've been dying to read, I might splurge and buy it outright. If I don't go to the effort, it doesn't mean that I WON'T read it, just that I don't care that much if I do or do not. So my TBR list isn't really a list so much as a cloud of nebulous possibilities with no real order.
