Getting book noticed on NetGalley

Hi - I am looking for suggestions on the best techniques for getting a book noticed on NetGalley. I have my new book listed there in a "read now" status. The first few days people selected the book and downloaded it for review. Now the level of interest has dried up. I suppose that is because the "regulars" have looked once and made up their mind one way or the other. So far no reviews have been posted but I expect that is a result of the few number of days it has been listed. Anyway - any suggestions how to steer more people over to NetGalley to consider my book? Hi Ralph, I have been tinkering with NetGalley as well. I found that switching book once a month (if you have more than one published) and changing categories help, but like all reviews it's an unreliable waiting game. Good luck :)

Have you tried Booksprout subscribe to their newsletter if you can.

I have three reviews and hopefully will get a second round. I just started with Net galley.

does anyone have reports about Book sprout.

I'm not to lie. I hardly ever look at the "Read Now" books on Netgalley. I always do the requests. I don't know, but that's just what I do. A lot of times, I do forget about the "Read Now" books. There has also been times on Netgalley that it's taken me up to a month to get the reviews turned back in. It just depends on how many books I have lined up. Right now, I have about four to write reviews for.

You know...I never thought of that way. By listing it as "Read Now" I thought I was just making it easier for the reader - that they would get the book right away and not have to go through the step of waiting for approval. I never thought it came with the expectation that it must be read right away. I am going to try switching it over to need approval status and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the thought. And, good luck with your reviews. Reviews are difficult and should take time. Nobody expects that they be done right away. Ralph

Also try using multiple genres. I don't know if you can, but it may draw in more readers. It's just so easy for books to get overlooked. Hope you are making progress!
