The third project is editing Degrees of Separation: Adventures in the Liaden Universe® Number 27, an all-new, all-original novella (unless it hits the lower eaves of novel by the time the edits are done). Degrees, it says here, is a story about Paris, about love, and about bread. Our intention is to have it available as a widely-distributed echapbook, and as a paper chapbook (though Amazon only) in mid to late January.

The ebook is now available for preorder on Amazon. Sharon is having trouble getting BN to cooperate with preorders. On the 15th it should be available for purchase as ebook on all the usual sites, and as paperback on Amazon only.

Note this is a chapbook, not a full novel.

Yummy short read. My review of Degrees of Separation:

Satisfying novella in the Liaden Universe, providing backstory to the shorter "Block Party" which was posted online in December. The two stories may be read in either order, and there's no need to have read other stories in the Liaden Universe before either one, as long as you are will to accept some strange terms in one or more foreign languages.

This story settles the fact that the Terra of the Liaden Universe is in an alternate timeline of our own. It is clear that part of the action occurs in Paris, from the plethora of French terms, however the name given to the city is the name it had before it was renamed Paris.

This is science fiction and romance, with a generous dose of unusual cultures, manners, customs, and laws. Recommended.
