Process Update: Single-name authors

In the same vein, we need to address disambiguation of initials-only author names. These are author names that use only initials, such as "A.B." or "C.D."
I'm beginning to see some of those showing up with an asterisk at the end: A.B.* or C.D.*, using the same example. Has a determination been made on this?
It seems we could use the ^. rule for these as well; ie, A.B^. when disambiguation is needed. That's an elegant solution that would work well for both these scenarios.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Dobby... we haven't yet considered these edge cases, but I will definitely bring this up for discussion with the team.

Asking because of https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
that would need to be M. per GR rules (or better the 4 different M.'s)
but M. is currently another disambiguated pseudonym so don't want to mess that up

We wanted to let you know that we've recently updated our process on single-name author disambiguation. As we’ve never had a clear process for librarians to follow when dealing with single-name author disambiguation, this update should provide clarity and create more consistency across author and book records on Goodreads.
The preferred method of separating single-name authors is to add additional information to their profile, like a last name or an initial. However, if this is not available, the alternative is to separate the author’s books from the default profile by adding a space followed by a period to the author name.
eg. Catherine^.
