Lisarenee | 2046 comments *****SPOILERS FOR SILVER*****
Read Silver and liked we got a glimpse of when Sam and Ariana met. So was Charles born later? Seems like another short story may be necessary. I liked how we found out about the faye objects origins too.

If Samuel's true name isn't Samuel, what is it and why doesn't he use it? It sounds like his father would know. Also, I didn't recall Sam having had a family before. Could his love for Ariana be the reason he couldn't truly fall for Mercy?

******Spoilers for Fairy Gifts*****

So I can't recall Thomas. I think he was in the last book, but for some reason I can't recall him with any clarity. Interesting he can walk in the light. Margaret was also interesting. Seemed like her story would be a nice addition to the short story list.

***I like that the Alpha and Omega story is included in this one.

I really liked the one with Sam and Ariana. It was nice to see how they started out.

And yes, Charles is the little brother. Sam was already old when he and Bran moved to the US.

Lisarenee | 2046 comments Funny, Charles always seemed the older of the two.lol

Lisarenee | 2046 comments I like the Grey or is it Gray story and learning it was something Patricia did for a writing group. I like it having a double meaning with it being a shade between black and white and also a name. The story reminded me a little of the movie "Ghost". Terrible how one small decision can have such big and tragic outcome.

I think that half the fun of reading these stories was the explanation from Briggs about how they came about.

Very true. :)

Angie | 419 comments I freaking LOVED this book! It usually takes a Chicagoland book to make me this excited, though Mercy has been a close second since I found her.

I'll try to keep SPOILERS out, but sometimes they find a way in, so be warned.

Silver
I thought it was great to see how Bran and Samuel were changed, and how he met Ariana. The hobgoblin companion was just about the sweetest character in the series so far, with maybe the exception of Peter, the old submissive wolf.

Roses in Winter
I absolutely did nit want this story to end! The only thing missing was a visit from Mercy and Adam. I'd take a whole novel on Asil, he's such a complex character, and I loved the way he interacted with Kara.

Redemption
Ben is just awesome. I felt that this was missing a lot of details to his past, things that were implied but never stated flat out.

Hollow
This strangely was one of my two least favorites of the book, even though it was mostly Mercy. It was still a great story though, and it was nice to see Mercy using her ghost powers.

Fairy Gifts
Like Lisarenee, I don't remember Thomas, even though there really aren't that many vamps in the series. This was a very interesting story, and I liked the history lesson that was mixed in. I never knew Butte was once a tech pioneer, being the third city to get electricity!

Gray
Was there anyone from this story that's been in the Mercyverse before this book? I'd say this was my other least favorite, but again it was a great story.

Alpha and Omega
This was one of the two stories I had read before, but I loved the memory refresher, it just reminded me how much I have loved the A&O books!

Seeing Eye
This was the other story that I'd previously read, but that didn't detract from its appeal. Tom and Moira are a great couple and it was another great reminder on how much I have enjoyed A&O.

The Star of David
This was a great story. I'd have loved if Devonte had been in some of the other Mercy books. He's a great character that could bring a whole new arc to the books'

In Red, with Pearls
Anything with Warren and Kyle in it is worth reading. I think Briggs did a great thing by having a gay werewolf. It brings a little extra drama between the pack, and they have great chemistry. I'd definitely read more and more about them.

I agree that one of the best things was Briggs' stories explaining the how and why of each story. It added to the stories on a new level.
