And oh man everything is getting crazy real. This is family drama, on how family blogging affects a family.
hehe how many times is it allowed to say a word in one sentence 🤣

(tried cutting and pasting a picture of the book, but apparently it won't do it here) Rimrunners by C. J. Cherryh
Currently reading:
Cyteen by C.J. Cherryh
On my Current Reads to Finish:
Forty Thousand In Gehenna by C.J. Cherryh
Regenisis by C.J. Cherryh
Margaret Sanger: Her Life In Her Words by Mirriam Reed
Borrowed from my library but not yet added:
In These Times: Living In Britain Through Napoleon's Wars, 1793-1815 by Jenny Uglow
A Royal Experiment: The Private Life of King George III by Janice Hadlow
The Time Traveller's Guide to Regency Britain by Ian Mortimer
The Regency Years: During Which Jane Austen Writes, Napoleon Fights, Byron Makes Love, and Britain Becomes Modern by Robert Morrison
Thanks for sharing your current reads, everyone! Here’s a little bookish love for your May picks:
@Jayme(theghostreader): Shatter Me and Sleeping Murder, what a combo! Tahereh Mafi’s poetic style meets Christie’s classic mystery vibes. Hope you’re enjoying both!
@Christine: Two Noelle W. Ihli thrillers (Ask for Andrea and Gray After Dark), sounds like you’re on a suspense kick! Let us know how they compare!
@Carol: Wow, you’re deep in C.J. Cherryh’s universe and balancing it with fascinating historical deep dives (Regency Britain + George III?!). Your TBR is impressive! P.S.: To add book covers in comments, click "add book/author" at the top of the comment box, search your title, then select "cover" (instead of text). Hope that helps for future posts!
Keep the updates coming, and happy reading, all! 📚✨

I’ve been reflecting lately on how we all define success differently—some see it as achieving goals, others as finding purpose, or even just enjoying the process of growth.
What does “winning the game” of life look like for you?
Do you focus more on outcomes, personal fulfilment, resilience… or something else entirely?
Curious to hear your thoughts!
I’ve also been reading and writing around this topic myself—if you’re into mindset and purpose-driven living, you might enjoy this too:

Would also love to hear your favourite reads on the topic!

Hi Christopher—thanks for sharing such a thoughtful reflection! The way we each define "winning" in life is deeply personal, and it’s always interesting to hear how others frame it, whether through growth, resilience, purpose, or progress. You’ve sparked a great conversation topic!
Just a quick note as a mod: while we love hearing about what you're reading and the ideas it's sparking, we do ask that members avoid promotional links or self-promotion unless it’s in designated spaces (like our Author's Corner).

Hello Christine! Glad to have you here, and thanks for jumping into the thread!
How to Disappear by Gillian McAllister is such a gripping read, full of tension and ethical dilemmas. Her take on identity and protection really makes you think. Are you enjoying it so far? No spoilers, of course, but I’d love to hear what’s standing out to you!
Feel free to share any other favorites or authors you’re into, we love chatting all things books around here.

📣 Quick Update: Big Things Coming for Our Currently Reading Thread!
Hi friends! 👋 We’ve loved seeing so many of you drop in here to share what you're reading—it’s seriously one of the most vibrant spots in the group. That said… after 39 pages and almost 10 years of nonstop recs and reading updates, this thread has become a bit of a beast. 😅
✨ Starting in July, we’re switching to a Monthly “Currently Reading” thread!
Here’s why:
🔹 Freshness! Each month will feel like a clean slate—less scrolling, easier to jump in.
🔹 Friendlier for newcomers. No one has to wonder where the latest convo is hiding.
🔹 Easier for mods. We'll be better able to chat with everyone and keep things flowing without burnout (or missing your posts).
💬 You can still post what you're reading anytime—daily, weekly, once a month, whatever fits your vibe. We just want to make the space a little easier to follow and engage with.
🆕 While we're refreshing things, we’ve also added a couple of fun new ways to connect:
📚 Weekly Author Appreciation – One author each week, open-discussion style. Bring your takes, love letters, or rants.
🎯 Monthly Theme Chat – A fresh, low-pressure theme each month to spark new reads and conversations (June’s theme is Time Travel!).
📅 Look for the July “Currently Reading” thread to go live soon! This thread will stay open until then, so keep the bookish updates coming.
Questions? Thoughts? Drop them below—we want this to work with our community, not just for it!

. I read these four books when they were published and I wanted to revisit them. For the most part, I am enjoying the re-read. The alpha-male/protective dude schtick gets on my nerves a little more now than it did when I was in my 20s.
