I think it should count. Especially if they have words along with the pictures. Even though it is just a book with just pictures and no words it still tells a story.
Most definitely. Picture books can have as good a moral and message as long, thick novels. I am 11, (but I have read more books then both my parents) so I'm still in school, and in reading we read a lot of picture stories, to help us think deeper. So yes, I do. They can be just as important.
I think they should. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Even I have some chapter art in my own book. And who is to judge how many words per picture would set it apart and make it different?I love the Grinch who stole Christmas. The rhymes are a great poetry to remember, and the meaning is better than most movies you find in Hollywood.
