Mora’s character work has a lyrical quality that conveys motion and drama without being overly cartoony. His gorgeous set designs kept the story grounded in late medieval times, even when Klaus was jumping across rooftops like Batman or Daredevil.I rank Klaus as a high water mark in Grant Morrison’s post-DC career. It’s an equally accessible and alternative reimagining of the Santa Claus myth. (Okay to air on the podcast)
This book was a lot of fun!! Just a really cool take on the mythology of Santa. For the most part I am 90% a fan of Morrison’s work. A bit of his stuff does not resonate with me (ie Wonder Woman)
I was not very familiar with Dan Mora, but Holy Wow!! It works so well with the story, I like the character designs, it feels to me like a cross between a Disney animation but mixed in with SuperHero comics
The book is a quick read, which I do not mind, but I did spend about half the time checking out the art.
Solid story, nothing too crazy but it all fits
I also read Klaus and the Crisis in Xmasville
I recommend that one shot
Ok to air
