I am reading the book and wonder if spoilers are posted or if you have a spoiler warning policy? Thank you.
I read this book back in June of '17 and at first was a bit confused because it goes back and forth - not a fan of those books that keep jumping from past to present...but eventually began following the story line....good suspense book!
I finished listening to this a few days ago (it came up on my Library hold list sooner than expected). The plot twist left my jaw on the floor! From then on, it became difficult to continue, since it brought up painful memories the book’s description had not prepared me to guard against. I had to force myself to finish, and I was wishing there had been some warning about graphic descriptions that might trigger flashbacks. That aside, it was a very well written story.
Hi Jaime, Natalie, Agnes and Sherrie: greetings and welcome to this group. First of all, NO SPOILERS! Some have not finished with this book, and it definitely has twists and turns.
Sherrie, I also had a time with several parts of the book for personal reasons. I hope you are all right. There are graphic scenes, but no overly graphic.

Hi everyone!I just finished this book! Comments are welcomed and encouraged, but no spoilers please.
Read this awhile back and really liked it. I could have used a little more character development and done without a side story, but overall it was a fast paced well done suspense story.
I just shared my review on Facebook from goodreads. Maybe you can find then there. Takes place in welch village, get inside heads of a variety of people. We all have our weaknesses. No I didn't keep my copy. I always share my books with my book club
I am not on Face Book, but yes, you have the right book. I'm just waiting for everyone to finish reading and start discussing.
I've started reading this one and was pleasantly surprised at 5he beginning. I like books that start out with a bang.
I read this late summer of 2016. I will weigh in later in the month when more people have finished it.

There are several, and all mind boggling.
I read the book when it was first released and enjoyed it very much. I didn't see the twist coming either. After reading her second, I See You, which I think is even better, I have counted Claire Macintosh among my favourite thriller writers. Her third book is already pre-ordered.
Ok so I finished this book yesterday. I see what people mean by wishing it cane with a warning. I grew up in a house that was very similar and it triggered some not so good feelings. There were a lot of tines I was reading with my hand over my mouth my eyes wide and tearring up. A couple of times I even felt sick. You don't see the twists coning. it is very well written. I will definitely be reading more by this author.
I'm sort of iffy on this. It's not up to my standards, I mean while I'm reading I'm wishing something would happen. Oh well I've started part 2. Here's hoping it gets better from here on out.

Thanks for sharing! However, I believe if a pre-warning had been issued, it would also ruin the plot----it's part of her intention, I'm sure, but it certainly contains some heavy duty shocks.

Finished. I like the easy-to-read writing. A couple of twists made for an interesting story.
I finished and the 2nd half was better than the1st half. It was pretty easy to figure out who the real culprit was.
I read this in August of last year and was underwhelmed. As I said in my review, I almost abandoned it about 10 times, but the writing did keep me turning pages so I couldn't "let you go". :) I did not see the plot twist in the middle coming, so that hooked me and kept me at it, but I overall felt it was implausible, not to mention I'm really tired of sadistic, abusive relationship thrillers. I just took a look at a lot of reviews and I'm definitely in the minority. I found it interesting that so many reviewers liked one half of the book and not the other, but it wasn't predictable which. Some loved the first half/hated the second and others vice versa!
I really liked this particular review, filled with humor. (so detailed, I don't recommend reading it till you're finished reading the book.)https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I was not crazy about this book for a number of reasons. I finished it several days ago and I don't think any of the characters were developed in any real, substantial way. One of them takes photographs in the sand. One of them is a veterinarian. Some are police. I know that we don't expect deep characterization in detective novels. BUT: I guessed what was going on very very early. I even got the "final twist" pinned down quite early. The plot lacked elegance.
Finally I did skip several pages which involved Ian. I just could not read all of that.
Ultimately I don't know that I like the current spate of "twisty" mysteries. I like the more subtle twists that were created by authors like Agatha Christie. Even something like "Murder of Roger Ackroyd" is put together in such a way that the "twist" feels organic.
If it were very well-written, I could understand reading a novel about a woman who takes the blame for a crime committed by somebody else and see if we could investigate her foggy reasoning.
WOW, some very varied and equally intense comments. Some of you loved it, some were concerned about happenstances for personal reasons, and some of you sounded a little bored. Is anyone still reading this?
I loved her style of writing; I felt it was very beautifully lyrical. I also was unprepared for the many twists. In my memory, I can count at least three shocks. I have a question for everyone: do you consider this book a mystery?
Natalie, I partially agree with you about character development; however Jenna's character was painstakingly developed in my opinion as well as Ian's. Everyone else stayed in the shadows.
Another question: two intense first-person point of views and many third-person POV''s. How did you feel about that?
I consider this more of a mixture of suspense/mystery. In my opinion it wasn't your typical fast paced thriller and it wasn't an extremely detailed mystery either. I didn't mind the two strong first person point of views although I feel that some of the other characters were not developed more because of it. I would have liked more character development with Patrick. I enjoyed the style of writing though and like you were unprepared for the twists. Overall, an enjoyable read.
Jaime, I loved it, although there were parts that were slightly drawn out, and yes, I agree, I would have loved to learn more about Patrick! Bethan was an interesting character; warm and receptive, and I was also very curious about Ray, Kate and Mags; Mackintosh spent a lot of time building it up---I wonder if there will be a continuation in other books.
The twists were shocking, especially the first.
Oh Yeah! I would have liked to know more about that developing love triangle too! It really seemed to grow and grow and then just fizzle out. Same with Tom. I would have like to have known what happened with that whole situation. It's almost like it needed a "One Year Later" chapter.
You are absolutely right: the author built up the triangle and spent time discussing Tom and ensuing problems and then just stopped.
I just finished listening to All the Missing Girls and am looking forward to starting this one this evening. Hopefully I will enjoy this one more than I did the other.
