Welcome to the group Terry!
I myself am not a very big fan of romance but I do like thrillers (the scarier the better lol), mystery, fantasy, sci-fi.
I had been a GR member for about 5 years as well before joining this group and I'm very glad I did. It's an awesome group with great challenges, fun and interesting group and buddy reads and many more activities. Also the group members are super friendly and supportive. I hope you'll enjoy participating as much as I do.
Have fun and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

Hi Nikki, welcome to the group!
Wow, living in Singapore! For work? Next to reading, travelling is one of my favourite hobby's. Haven't been to Singapore yet though! Still on my list :)
Ah, the everlasting TBR everyone of us is trying to reduce! You might be interested in the Clear the Shelves Challenge to help you reach that goal.
In any case I hope you'll have fun participating. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

Hi Jahnavi, welcome to the group! I'm sure you will succeed in discovering new books to read. My TBR list has grown exponentially since I've joined this group :) Also there are a lot of great challenges you can join. I myself am also a very big fan of the monthly group and buddy reads; they are a lot of fun and they have led me to read books I probably wouldn't have otherwise (but which I did enjoy). If you prefer to read together but in smaller "groups" you can sign up for the twin reads where you read a book with one other group member, a book you both have on your TBR list.
Just have a look around to see what interests you and just jump in. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Happy reading to you too Jahnavi!

Blagica | 12943 comments Jahnavi I am so happy that we are your first group! I think you will find a challenge to jump into that you will totally love! We have a little bit of everything. Nine books already that is impressive. 150 books is a great goal. if you need anything don't hesitate to ask.

Blagica | 12943 comments Hi Miranda welcome to the group! What are you studying in university? I think 24 is a great goal! Everyone here has there own pace while we all love books. Do you have a favorite author?
I think you will like our Dig Deeper challenge if you are looking to branch out.

I'm Miranda, from England and studying at university. I mostly read fantasy and sci-fi fiction, and a lot of history books for my degree, but I'm hoping to expand my reading into other types of non-fiction this year.

Hi Miranda, welcome to the group! Hope you'll enjoy it! There are a lot of great challenges to help you expand your reading. Have a look around to see which ones might interest you and don't hesitate to jump in!

My reading goal is 24, which I know isn't much. I'm expecting to be doing a lot of dipping in and out of books for my studies too, though, which won't count for the goal but will take up a lot of time. I've been too busy with university to read as much as I've had liked for the last few years, so hopefully this will get me motivated to get into it more! "

You have come to the right place Miranda! This is a very fun, active and supportive group and joining really helped me to read more.
Have fun and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

Neffa 🍑✨ (neffa_ent) Hi, I’m Steph and I’m from Melbourne, Australia.

I’m really new to reading. I had read some books in the past, but it wasn’t until I discovered Booktube did I really wanna start to read more. I do really love crime/thriller/mystery books though, I’ve always found that subject matter really interesting :)

I found this group through someone’s profile and I’ve been looking for a group to join to kinda be accepted as a new reader and make friends and such, and this group already seems so amazing and accepting and friendly, so thank you so much for that!

My goal for 2018 is to read 12 books, one each month. I feel like as a beginner-reader that’s a reasonable goal, and although it may not seem like a lot, for someone who barely managed to read 2 books a year, its a lot for me XD

Frenchpolkadot (frenchpolkadots) | 17 comments Hello everyone! My name is Nice (nickname; like niece) I'm from the USA. I'm not new to Goodreads. But I've been a lover of books since before I knew how to even read haha. I'm an avid reader who's always making lists and lists everywhere but never seem to read them, because I'm always finding new books to read :P

I've been in many reading groups throughout my life and just began joining some on Goodreads. I'd love to meet more people on here to discuss books and even join a bookclub.

For 2018 I hope to read more classics, short story collections, poetry this year so if anyone has good poetry or poet works please list suggestions! Book suggestions are welcome as well!

Sounds like a perfect goal. Last year I started out with a goal of 12 myself after having been in a reading slump for many years. If you have a look around at other people’s challenges you’ll see that there’s a very wide range. Most important is that you have fun with your challenge and your reads.
Will you be joining any of the challenges or maybe some of the group and buddy reads to help you reach your goal?
In any case I hope you’ll enjoy the group. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask!

Nicola Hello!

I am Nicola from England - but currently living in Guernsey, the channel islands.

I like to read a mixture of books, from classics to contemporary - I mainly choose books to read based on recommendations from friends/ media/ the internet!

I found this group just by browsing goodreads, looking for ways to get more involved and talk to others about what they are reading.

This year my reading goal is 20 books, which is one more than last year. However, last year I was studying for my masters degree so I had a lot less time to read for fun, so I'm hoping I might do better than that!

Conservative goal? Not to me lol! That's the cool thing about this group, there are challenges ranging from less than 10 books to more than 300 books, and that's ok.
